Arwen or Elowyn

We’re pretty much set on [name_f]Arwen[/name_f].

But I love the name [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] too and Im open to the possibility of using it for our little one due in [name_f]October[/name_f].

[name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_f]Eirlys[/name_f] or [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] are our top contenders.

But out of curiousity thoughts on [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]?

I like it spelt [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] too but worry it would be too many ‘e’ sounds and I like the sound of [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] and the possibility of [name_u]Wynne[/name_u] or [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f] as nicknames.

I love [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. I don’t like [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] and I really love [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] but I think the spelling [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f] looks really weird. I think you could use [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] as a nn to [name_f]Arwen[/name_f].

Elowyn [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is gorgeous

I love [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]! I prefer [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]/Elowyn to [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] generally, although both are lovely. I think you could very reasonably use [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], too, if you end up deciding to go that route!

I love both so much, but I slightly prefer [name_f]Arwen[/name_f]!! [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_f]Eirlys[/name_f] is stunning, and [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is so sweet.
[name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is gorgeous too though, so you cant go wrong!
I also agree with a pp that you could use [name_u]Wynn[/name_u]/Winnie as a nickname for [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] if you wanted to!

I’m a fan of both. [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] feels more feminine and I think lends itself more to nicknames ([name_f]El[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_u]Wyn[/name_u], [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f]). I think [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] is more likely to go by [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], although I’m of the belief that nicknames can be super flexible and even a stretch from an original.

I really like [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]/Elowyn [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]- [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] is nice as well, but I prefer [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] a bit. I don’t think it would be too many “E” sounds and I love [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f]/Winnie (which is a great nickname for [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] too.)

Elowyn [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is a really beautiful name.

I love both these names but really like [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] as a combo. And I love it spelled with a “y”!

Although I think [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] is pretty, I definitely prefer [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]/Elowen over [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is lovely. [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] is entirely too connected to [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings for me, but that’s personal preference. Not a bad connection, just too strong for my taste.

Elowyn [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is lovely, and you can’t go wrong either way, but… I really do prefer [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], actually. It’s just too gorgeous.

Partner just said he likes it spelt Ellowyn. So if we do use the name it will likely be a choice between

[name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_f]Eirlys[/name_f] or Ellowyn [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]

But we will decide that when she is here.

I prefer [name_f]Arwen[/name_f]!
