We’re deciding on the name for baby boy #3.
His brothers names are [name_m]Axel[/name_m] and [name_u]Zion[/name_u].

I loooove [name_u]Asa[/name_u]!

I’m not familiar with [name_f]Iva[/name_f] for a boy — only [name_m]Ivo[/name_m], [name_m]Ivor[/name_m]/[name_m]Ivar[/name_m]/[name_m]Iver[/name_m] or [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] — but I think it could grow on me. It’s certainly spiky and striking enough for a brother to [name_m]Axel[/name_m] and [name_u]Zion[/name_u], with those high-value Scrabble letters X, Z and V.

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] or [name_m]Ives[/name_m]?

My husbands family is from [name_f]Russia[/name_f] and the name [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] has been used a lot in his family. However everyone calls them [name_f]Iva[/name_f] instead of [name_m]Ivan[/name_m]. So my husband really wants to name our boy [name_f]Iva[/name_f] and I absolutely love the name too!
We both really like the ending on an A, so [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] isn’t really an option.
My worry is however that people will associate the name [name_f]Iva[/name_f] with a girl instead of a boy, since we’re living in [name_u]America[/name_u] and not [name_f]Russia[/name_f].
So this is why we’re thinking of the name [name_u]Asa[/name_u], which we also love…

I’ve never seen [name_f]Iva[/name_f] for a boy but I like it! And it works well to honor your heritage so I say go for it.

I think [name_f]Iva[/name_f] would be very refreshing on a boy; I love a-enders for boys. The family significance is an added bonus. A vote for [name_f]Iva[/name_f], as much as I love [name_u]Asa[/name_u]!

I voted [name_u]Asa[/name_u], but seeing more information I actually think [name_f]Iva[/name_f] would be a better choice for you, and is perfect with your other boys’ names.
