I love it, and I’m trying to get my husband on board to consider it for this baby. I love nn [name_m]Ace[/name_m]! I don’t think it is too religious… Yes, it’s a biblical name, but there are SO MANY biblical names out there. I don’t know who [name_u]Asa[/name_u] is in the Bible, I think of [name_u]Asa[/name_u] Butterfield when I hear the name.

I adore [name_u]Asa[/name_u]. I don’t think that it’s too religious at all. Not a super well know biblical figure, is he? It’s one of those names that could fit any personality. [name_m]Ace[/name_m] is cute.

I really like Asa, as he’s so sweet, strong and simple, yet spunky. I don’t find it to be ā€˜too biblical’ at all.

Ace does make for a sweet nickname, however, once he gets older (and depending on his personality too I guess), he may detest being called Ace (as in ā€˜high rank’/’#1’) due to pretentiousness of that connotation so I’d be mindful of that perhaps.

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] is an amazing name! To me it’s not a religious name, I know he’s a biblical figure but I have no idea who he is. I’m not a fan of the nn but who cares, if you love it then use it

It’s one of my favorite names, but I think [name_m]Ace[/name_m] ruins it completely.

Thank you for your comments. I agree I don’t think it’s as recognizably biblical as say, [name_m]Abel[/name_m], which I also love.

DH’s concern is that people will mispronounce it often and he’ll constantly be saying ā€œit’s Eh-sah, not As-aā€, but I’m not sure if I agree.

Absolutely love it, but DH sadly vetoed it because apparently a well-known (female) porn star has the same name. That doesn’t put me off in the slightest, but I thought I’d mention it just in case.

I think [name_u]Asa[/name_u] is strong, simple, dynamic and quirky in a quiet kind of way. I have a real soft spot for -a ending boys’ names and this is one of the most no-nonsense options out there. Traditional and widely familiar, but never overused.

I’m not a huge fan of [name_m]Ace[/name_m], however — too self-consciously cool/edgy — but it’s fine as a nickname.
