My daughter’s name is [name]Isla[/name]. I am expecting a boy early next year and really struggling to come up with names that I like (let alone ones that my husband agrees on). One we have agreed on is [name]Asher[/name]. Looking for opinions on whether it is too similar to [name]Isla[/name] or do they work OK together?
I love [name]Isla[/name]! I think that [name]Asher[/name] is a great name, and I personally don’t think it’s too similar to [name]Isla[/name]. Aside from having two syllables and beginning with a vowel like [name]Isla[/name], I don’t hear any of [name]Isla[/name]'s sounds in [name]Asher[/name] (no long I, no L, and no “uh” sound). (I may be missing something, but I’ve said the names together over and over, and so far, I haven’t become tongue tied or gotten them confused.)
I think that [name]Asher[/name] is very handsome!
Some more names I can see with [name]Isla[/name]:
[name]Augustin[/name]/[name]August[/name]
[name]Beckett[/name]
[name]Charles[/name]
[name]Campbell[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]
[name]Fergus[/name]
[name]Graham[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Maxwell[/name]
[name]Malcolm[/name]
[name]Roman[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Victor[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name]
(I included some Scottish names, like [name]Isla[/name].)
Good luck!
I think [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Isla[/name] are too similar to be a sibset but [name]Ashton[/name] and [name]Isla[/name] work really well together.
I agree with [name]Jill[/name]. I don’t think they’re too close. And I absolutley [name]LOVE[/name] both names!!
written they look too similar but out load they sound fine.
