Asher or Grayson

[name]Grayson[/name] is one of our very favorite names. We love how it sounds and how it flows with our last name. However, we recently discovered [name]Asher[/name]. We both love it and are having a difficult time deciding. We like how [name]Asher[/name] is a biblical name and has some history. Our last name is [name]German[/name] Jewish however we are not Jewish. So my questions are: is it okay to have a Hebrew name paired with our last name if we aren’t Jewish? And, which do you prefer: [name]Grayson[/name] or [name]Asher[/name]? We do not care about how popular or unpopular a name is. Also, if a girl were ever to come along we would name her [name]Emmeline[/name] so would prefer to have the names match. [name]TIA[/name]!

Argh! You’re killing me. :frowning: I love both! [name]Asher[/name] is technically higher up on my list, but I love [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Grayson[/name] essentially the same, and I adore the nns [name]Ash[/name] and [name]Gray[/name]. Plus, [name]Emmeline[/name] is just fab! [name]Love[/name] your taste.

I think I like [name]Grayson[/name] more with [name]Emmeline[/name] than [name]Asher[/name], so I suppose I would choose that. I think I would take both [name]Grayson[/name] and [name]Asher[/name] to the hospital, though, and just see which suits him better.

Good luck!

^^WSS!! Except I really love [name]Asher[/name] more. I just love the way it sounds and I love nn [name]Ash[/name]. However, [name]Grayson[/name] sounds better with [name]Emmeline[/name] by a mile. On the other hand, it may be a slippery slope to name your kids based on what your future daughter would be named. What if you have three boys and decide to quit, having named them all to go with a non-existent [name]Emmeline[/name]? Sorry, had to play devil’s advocate there for a moment!

I really like both names but i love [name]Asher[/name] so much more! I think it sounds great with [name]Emmeline[/name] too

[name]Both[/name] are fantastic names! I don’t think you can go wrong with either. We have a [name]Greyson[/name], so I am definitely biased. But to be fair we cannot have an [name]Asher[/name] because it sounds terrible with our last name. I actually like [name]Asher[/name] better with [name]Emmeline[/name], but coming from someone who is expecting her fourth boy… it is probably not wise to pick based on that. I think it is fine to use [name]Asher[/name] even if you are not Jewish.
