Would you say this name is trendy? Or does it have a more classic feel with it’s biblical roots? We really like the nn Ash and the meaning but I’m wondering if its gonna feel trendy with the upswing in popularity? I seem to be hearing it a lot lately. I know Samuel is also popular but for some reason it doesn’t bother me. Probably because its a classic…
Trying to put together a top 3 for boys and I think we have Samuel, Asher and Felix right now but also thinking about Liam & Leo.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] is definitely trendy here in southeastern US, but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. [name_m]Asher[/name_m] is less so, but on the upswing, so if that popularity would bother you, I’d go with [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] best of your names, anyway! It’s adorable on a baby and transitions well to adulthood!
[name_m]Asher[/name_m] is so-so. To me it swings toward trendy due to popularity, and similarity in sound to something like [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] which is very trendy.
Definitely ‘classic with its biblical roots’! I adore [name_m]Asher[/name_m] (can’t use it though!). However, I could really see it becoming trendy, since 13 Reasons Why is suddenly on trend lately (if you aren’t familiar with the book or Netflix series, the author of the original book is named [name_u]Jay[/name_u] [name_m]Asher[/name_m]).
[name_m]Asher[/name_m] is definitely trendy. It climbed on average 27 spots a year in the top 1000 for 30 years, now being in the top 100. I looked it up because my daughter (4) has four boys named [name_m]Asher[/name_m] in her nursery school of like 80 kids, two being in her class. One does go by [name_u]Ash[/name_u] a lot of the time, but because kids can’t really differentiate [name_u]Ash[/name_u] vs [name_m]Asher[/name_m], so they both go by their last name initial. It also sounds like a room full of kids saying Ass a lot of the time. [name_m]Just[/name_m] some things to consider.
