Ashley

This name is 100% female to me, sorry. And further, I find it rather dated and overused. I have a sister named [name_u]Ashley[/name_u], a best friend named [name_u]Ashley[/name_u], and in school I know no less than a dozen Ashleys–all girls. As much as it may have started as a boy’s name, the fact remains it is now largely used for girls. I’m just not sure why, of all of the names in all the world, one would settle on a name for a boy that is now widely accepted for girls. I will be up front: For the most part, I like boy names on boys and girl names on girls. If I feel a boy name has tipped too far to the girls, I give it up as a boy’s name. There would be a high chance that every single [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] your future son met for the rest of his life would be a girl. I just feel there would be so much unnecessary teasing.
