I blog (the URL is in my signature). People have started to write to me looking for advice, and this is fabulous, because I said I was open for that and have long harboured ambitions of being an advice columnist.
However, I also have a bit of a dilemma - bear with me while I think aloud. I’m thinking about splitting my blog up into sections (fashion/design, names, personal etc.) and having a separate advice section would be fab. But, what should I call myself?
Ask [name]Lola[/name] - my real name. I usually write as this, and comment on various blogs as this. It would be blatantly obvious anything else wasn’t my real name, as the advice column would be attached to the blog I write as myself. The one thing holding my back from using this is a worry that it doesn’t sound quite right … too young? Not wise enough? I’ve always liked that my name gets just a little bit of that [name]Lolita[/name] edginess, but would you rather take advice from someone named, say, [name]Etta[/name]? Ask [name]Etta[/name]. I’m totally jealous of my sister, because I think Ask [name]Ginger[/name] would sound awesome.
Also, I’m British, and concerned that maybe the perception of [name]Lola[/name] is different across the Atlantic/Down Under et cetera.
Opinions? Am I totally overthinking this?
