Assistance please unique names

i am interested in feedback name suggestions . . .

between ahna vs anna such as is there a modern twist to either ?

also what do you think of asmae ?

thank you in advance

I personally think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is the nicest- to me, [name_f]Ahna[/name_f] just looks made up. If you want it said ah-na, you could always spell it [name_f]Ana[/name_f], which is a legitimate name. I don’t really feel like either of them have a modern twist, but [name_f]Anna[/name_f] looks the most streamlined out of the two.

Asmae- Sorry, but not a fan. I much prefer Esmé, in its original spelling- I think it is very elegant, familiar but underused.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] that helped. Have a great day :).

i do appreciate your response as I was wondering if anna is too common . . .

If you want unique, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is too common. It’s one of the few truly timeless girls names.
I adore [name_f]Anna[/name_f], but I steer clear of any top 100 names, so it’s not going to happen.
[name_f]Ahna[/name_f] is a sweet pronunciation, but I would spell it [name_f]Ana[/name_f].

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] luckily has many variations! [name_f]Ana[/name_f]ïs and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] are my favourites.
[name_f]Anya[/name_f], [name_f]Anoush[/name_f], [name_f]Annika[/name_f], [name_f]Anette[/name_f], and [name_f]Anina[/name_f] are all still quite short.
For more elaborate variants, there’s [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f], [name_f]Annamaria[/name_f], Annarose, [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f].
There are also a lot of names ending in -anna, [name_f]Roseanna[/name_f] would be my favourite.
Other An-names unrelated to [name_f]Anna[/name_f] would be [name_f]Anona[/name_f], [name_f]Annora[/name_f], [name_f]Anthea[/name_f], [name_f]Anwen[/name_f], [name_f]Antonia[/name_f], Annecy and Anjou. I have a soft spot for [name_f]Anwen[/name_f] myself.

Asmae made me think of Asthma which is unfortunate. [name_f]Esme[/name_f] is still unusual although she is getting more attention. Names like Asmae/[name_f]Esme[/name_f]:
[name_f]Aster[/name_f]
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f]
Amna
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] / [name_u]Alva[/name_u] / [name_f]Alba[/name_f] (I like these for you!)
[name_f]Ailsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f]
[name_f]Eyre[/name_f]
[name_f]Evadne[/name_f]
[name_f]Eos[/name_f]
[name_f]Eimear[/name_f] (prn. EE-mur)
Edmeé
[name_f]Edith[/name_f]

I think the perfect middle ground between Asmae/[name_f]Esme[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] for you would be [name_f]Ana[/name_f]ïs. [name_m]French[/name_m], uncommon, not really on anybody’s radar and absolutely gorgeous! I love [name_f]Ana[/name_f]ïs, so I’m possibly a bit biased  Alternative could be [name_f]Ala[/name_f]ïs, an old [name_m]French[/name_m] variant of [name_f]Alice[/name_f].

I like the pronounciation, but not necessarily the spelling.

@nooreve It really depends where you live. In Australia, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a recognised name, but it is quite uncommon. It is not a name where you look at it and go ‘what the heck it that?’: everyone knows what it is. However, it is not used very much (at least not where I live), so it would be a great choice. You really have to take your personal location into consideration.

To me, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a gorgeous classic, that can be lush, polished, serious, studious, spunky and extremely stylish all at once. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a name that allows a persons personality to shine through. I think that [name_f]Anna[/name_f] has a timeless image that will grow wonderfully with any girl.

If you were after a more ‘modern / exotic’ twist though, how about:
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f], [name_f]Annick[/name_f], [name_f]Anice[/name_f], [name_f]Annella[/name_f], [name_f]Ana[/name_f]ïs, [name_f]Annina[/name_f], [name_f]Nana[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f], [name_f]Nanor[/name_f], [name_f]Nita[/name_f], [name_f]Anke[/name_f], [name_f]Ana[/name_f], [name_f]Anneke[/name_f], [name_f]Anneli[/name_f], [name_f]Hanne[/name_f], [name_f]Ania[/name_f], [name_f]Anu[/name_f], [name_f]Anka[/name_f], [name_f]Ayn[/name_f], [name_f]Ayna[/name_f], [name_f]Annukka[/name_f], [name_f]Anya[/name_f] / [name_f]Anja[/name_f].

If you are looking for a “fresh and modern” twist on [name_f]Anna[/name_f] I would suggest checking out the [name_f]Anna[/name_f] entry at behindthename.com. It lists a lot of international variations that you might find appealing.

I personally like to stick with the KISS principal when it comes to choosing spellings. (Unless there is a great reason not to - i.e. I prefer [name_f]Ofelia[/name_f] over [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] because my husband studied Hispanic studies and lived most of his life in Spanish speaking countries - I like both spellings equally and think this would be a great way to honor part of who he is.) So in reference to [name_f]Ahna[/name_f] vs [name_f]Anna[/name_f] I would stick with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Ana[/name_f] instead of trying to spell it out phonetically by adding an “h”.

Why not name her [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] and call her [name_f]Anna[/name_f]?

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a very common name. And it’s very many variations. I do like [name_f]Ana[/name_f] better as well, you could use the name [name_f]Anastacia[/name_f], and there are a hundred others for an [name_f]Ahna[/name_f] name,.

I think the name Maebry ([name_f]May[/name_f]-bree) suits what you are looking for.
