Trying to choose between the name [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] or [name_f]Märta[/name_f] / Märtha. We have Skandinavian roots.
[name_f][/name_f]
Which name do you like most? and if we choose [name_f]Märta[/name_f] shall we pick [name_f]Märta[/name_f] the simple and common spell or Märtha the older and more royal spelling?
I like [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]I like the way [name_f]Marta[/name_f] with accent looks compared to [name_f]Martha[/name_f] with accent, but prefer [name_f]Martha[/name_f] without accent
I completely agree with @Sorceress[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f], I prefer [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] as it just feels more whimsical yet strong. I feel like if you live outside of [name_f]Europe[/name_f] or Scandinavia the accent will just get left out a lot, I live in the uk and every chlöe I know is always just written a [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. if you do go with [name_f]Märta[/name_f] though I would def choose that spelling over Märtha, just a little more visually pleasing and Scandinavian looking imo
I like [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Martha[/name_f] very much!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]
I agree with this! And I agree that it depends where you’re living in terms of the accent too. [name_f]In[/name_f] the UK it would probably get dropped most of the time.
[name_f]Märta[/name_f] feels regal, strong and succinct while [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] feels starry, bright and zippy. I guess it depends on the vibes you want?
I like both, but would choose [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] as a first or either as a middle.
[name_f][/name_f]
But this is also being Australian, where most would say [name_f]Marta[/name_f] in a way that sounds like Martyr or worse, [name_f]Marda[/name_f]! I’d use [name_f]Martha[/name_f] or [name_f]Mara[/name_f] where I am.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] though has cool, pretty quirky, artsy vibes. [name_f]Marta[/name_f] is a more earnest and scholarly name.
