[name_m]How[/name_m] do you guys feel about Astrophel? It’s a little out there, literary, and astrological. Would having Astrophel and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] as siblings be too much?
It would definitely be too much to have an Astrophel and a [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. I also feel that Astrophel would be mistaken for Asphodel - I like the sound of it, but it feels more like a place than a name.
That sibset’s a bit too spacey for me, and a little mismatched. Plus Astrophel looks like ‘apostrophe’ every time I read it.
@author in writing: I’m pretty sure [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] made it up for his sonnets which is probably why you think it sounds like a place, but I love his work and all the associations this name has, so I don’t think it bothers me.
@charlieandperry1: I do see apostrophe now that you point it out! The name is also spelled Astrophil.
It’s a very rich, elegant name but I don’t think it would work on an actual person unfortunately
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the fantasy element it brings though!
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] is much too modern and all around usable for the heavy Astrophel in my opinion.
@alliecat: Yeah, I do have to agree, it is pretty heavy. The nn Astro could lighten it up some though, right?
