[name]Every[/name] time I think I’ve found a name I like I realize after a few days or a few weeks maybe that I’m not really all that attached to it. I really need some opinions. Maybe fresh eyes will lend fresh creativity! At this rate I might just call my baby “It”
I’ve been considering [name]Charlize[/name] [name]Luciana[/name] which is the only combo I really have right now but some other names I like are:
[name]Maeve[/name] - really really love this but get strong opposition from family
[name]Regina[/name] - like that it means queen but not sure I love it
[name]Ivy[/name] - cute and spunky
[name]Annabelle[/name] - so ultra feminine but again I don’t absolutely love it
[name]Lucia[/name]/[name]Luciana[/name] - love them both
[name]Lola[/name] - I like names with the O sound.
[name]Harlow[/name] - see above
There’s others but those are a few that come to mind right now and there’s only a couple that I really like a lot. I’m just at a loss here.
I really adore [name]Maeve[/name] but none of my family like it My sister of course tells me I should use whatever I like and maybe it would grow on her but my mom just keeps telling me she hates it.
[name]Luciana[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] would be lovely but… I think if [name]Maeve[/name] is what you really really love then you are probably not going to find another name that measures up and that is why you are lost for a name. I know you probably want your family to love it right now like you do but they will grow to love it. [name]Do[/name] what is in your heart.
You will find the perfect name I promise! Let’s see, from your list - they are all lovely - but my personal favorite is [name]Annabelle[/name], but from what you wrote you don’t love it so I think you should scratch it off! I am a FULL believer in selecting the name YOU love, regardless of anyone else’s opinions. This is your little girl. Your mom got to name you what she wanted, and now you have that privilege
Suggestions from what you listed:
[name]Luciana[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] (possible nn of [name]Lucy[/name] here and below)
[name]Lucinda[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Lola[/name] [name]Charlize[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]
If you really love [name]Maeve[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name] go for it! They flow nicely together
Maybe you’re right. I’ve been coming back to [name]Maeve[/name] for a long time but I keep hoping I’ll find something everyone loves. My family is being so supportive and I just want everyone to be pleased but I absolutely adore [name]Maeve[/name]. Maybe you’re right and I should consider going with it and hope it grows on them.
[name]Maeve[/name] [name]Luciana[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name] are both so pretty! I hope you choose [name]Maeve[/name]. Your family will love your daughter regardless, and they will grow to love her name. You can tell them they can nickname her [name]Maisey[/name] (or something else you like), or not.
Hello!
[name]Don[/name]”t give up ” I”m sure you”ll find something you love! Nameberries are the best! It seems like you like different styles (romantic/exotic, and classic/vintage). Here are some combos based on what you said you like:
[name]Lucia[/name] [name]Bella[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name] [name]Katia[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name]
Maybe you would like [name]Lucy[/name]”
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]*
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Charlize[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Camille[/name]*
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]*
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Louise[/name]*
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]*
[name]Maeve[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]*
[name]Maeve[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]*
[name]Maeve[/name] [name]Isobel[/name]*
*names are my favorites
I was also thinking if you like [name]Charlize[/name] ” you might like [name]Charlie[/name] (I know it”s traditionally a boys name but”I can really picture it on a girl”maybe it”s because of a girl character that used to be on the show Heroes that was name [name]Charlie[/name] ” I don”t know).
[name]Hope[/name] this helps! Good luck naming! :o)
I actually really like your list! Good taste. (: Here are some combos I made by blending and bending the names you had:
[name]Luciana[/name] [name]Hero[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] (I’d probably use the nn [name]Lucy[/name])
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Lolita[/name]
[name]Regina[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
And here are some fresh names for you to ponder:
*[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Aloisia[/name] (great nn’s in this one–[name]May[/name], [name]Margo[/name], [name]Rita[/name], [name]Greta[/name], [name]Gretchen[/name], [name]Maggie[/name], etc.)
*[name]Verena[/name] [name]Miriam[/name] [name]Clemency[/name] ("[name]Vera[/name]")
*[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Kerensa[/name]
*[name]Rowena[/name] [name]Dorothy[/name]
I like [name]Charlize[/name], but it’s not my favorite from your list. I’m not sure I love that “[name]Charlie[/name]” would very likely be a nickname. [name]Luciana[/name] is so beautiful! [name]How[/name] do you like [name]Luciana[/name] [name]Charlize[/name]?
As for the others, I like [name]Maeve[/name] but if your family really hates it, you might want to put it in the middle. But it seems like you really like it, so perhaps you can talk it over with the family? At any rate, it’s your decision and your baby, so as long as you and your husband love [name]Maeve[/name], that’s all that matters.
I love [name]Regina[/name]'s meaning too, but if you don’t love it, then I wouldn’t go for it, in case you end up regretting it. Same with [name]Annabelle[/name], and generally any other name you like but not love. I really like [name]Ivy[/name], and I think [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Luciana[/name] would be very pretty. [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Lucia[/name] would also be quite nice. I like [name]Lola[/name] and [name]Harlow[/name] as well, and if you’re looking for more O names, how about [name]Nola[/name] or [name]Nora[/name]?
I adore [name]Lucia[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name], and I think [name]Luciana[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] would be so beautiful and it seems like you are really loving those two names.
I think [name]Maeve[/name] is a gorgeous name. Who cares what your family thinks, once she arrives they will adore her so much the name dispute will not matter. Go with your gut!
[name]Maeve[/name] is such a darling name. Does your mom like the nn [name]Maisie[/name]? She could use this instead…
Also love that [name]Maeve[/name] is a [name]Queen[/name] in Irish mythology…
[name]Maeve[/name] [name]Luciana[/name] would be gorgeous!
Thank you all so much for all the opinions and suggestions! I really appreciate it. I needed some fresh perspective so badly lol I was starting to feel like my eyes were going to cross from looking at so many baby names! There are some really great suggestions on there too (I really like [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Louise[/name] and [name]Nola[/name] is lovely) But [name]Maeve[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name] I think are still my favorites. I’m still pondering it though. I know it’s my baby and my choice in the end but it means a lot to have family support. Maybe I just need to let them know how much I really love it.
[name]Maeve[/name] is not common or mainstream, which might be why your family has not warmed up to it (yet). [name]Maeve[/name] is a name I had not been very familiar with until I was exposed to it on Nameberry. I think they will come around to it once they get accustomed to it. It may help for them to see it in print in addition to hearing it. I think the spelling adds to the charm. It is such an elegant, gorgeous name!
OMG. [name]Don[/name]'t tell family what you are thinking of naming your baby. This will drag the process out forever. A perfect example: [name]Maeve[/name]. A beautiful name. It even looks pretty written down. But your Mom hates it… well, with all due respect, your Mom had her chance to name her kids, this is your child. If I sound a bit touchy on the subject, it is because I have made the same mistake, mentioning names before registering the baby. [name]Long[/name] story short, we are still agonizing over names – registered our baby girl, but the name is not “taking” because I keep thinking of the comments from family.
If you are an easily swayed person, if you take comments to heart, then keep the baby discussion between you and the baby’s father. [name]Trust[/name] me, it’s much simpler this way.
I love [name]Maeve[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name]. If I ever have another girl after the twins, she will be [name]Ivy[/name].
I can empathise with you, when I named my son [name]Rory[/name] my dad hated it. He said it was too girly but as soon as [name]Rory[/name] was born he had a complete change of heart. Once a name is attached to a gorgeous baby your family will find the name gorgeous too.
If [name]Maeve[/name] i what you keep coming back to then go for it. It’s beautiful!
