Attention Yiddish or Hebrew speaking Berries: Boy name Yihil?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! This is a very random question, but I am doing a practicum in which I work with oral testimonies of Holocaust survivors. Most of them have already been transcribed; however some have not. The subjects are usually asked to speak a bit about their families. One gentleman mentioned his father’s name and it sounded to me like Yihil or Yahil or even Irhil. He was a Yiddish-speaker born in eastern Romania. I have looked up all the variations of this with little luck. Does anyone know of the name Yihil or a similar sounding name?

Thanks in advance!

Could he have been saying Yechiel or Jehiel? Maybe Ihial?

It’s possible, but the name was definitely two syllables and the last syllable sounded more “eel” then “el”, if that makes sense. Thanks for your suggestions!
