Wow, I’m kind of psyched! In my “[name]Jocelyn[/name]” post you all got me to take a second look at [name]Audrey[/name] - which dh & I had both really liked but I had ruled it out b/c it was in the 40’s and [name]Aubrey[/name] was also in the 40’s so combined they were pretty popular.
Well I just looked at the BNW name mapper and [name]Audrey[/name] isn’t in the top 100 in [name]Vermont[/name] and the highest it gets in New [name]England[/name] is the 60’s. [name]Aubrey[/name] is also not in the top 100 in VT, or the rest of New [name]England[/name], except in New Hampshire, where it’s in the 30’s, but whatever!
And as someone said, [name]Audrey[/name] is a classic name, not trendy. We have this double standard (dh & I) where we love names like [name]Sam[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] and would probably use them even though they are pretty high in popularity, but for a girl we have to completely rule a name out for popularity? Not quite fair!
So [name]Audrey[/name] is back on the list, and in fact taken over the #1 spot. What about a middle name though. . . nothing jumps out at me, can you think of some ideas?
I really like [name]Audrey[/name], and I think it goes really well with [name]Isla[/name] (also a lovely name)! I agree; it’s not the same type of popular as [name]Sophia[/name] or [name]Addison[/name], it’s more like [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], or [name]Julia[/name]. Middles:
ooooo I kind of am loving [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Olivia[/name]. . . [name]Olivia[/name] is one of my & dh’s favorites but is just reaaaallllly too high up, it’s been #1 in New Hampshire for like 5 years!
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] (Oops…not with an S last name…)
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
Yay! So glad you and hubby found a name you both love! [name]Audrey[/name] is timeless and elegant, so despite its apparent popularity, it is a true winner of a name!
I’d choose another one-syllable middle name to balance with [name]Isla[/name] [name]Hope[/name]…
[name]Love[/name] love love [name]Audrey[/name] and it is adorable with [name]Isla[/name]
I like…
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Belle[/name] (a combo I would seriously consider myself)
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Grace[/name]/[name]Faith[/name]/[name]Joy[/name] (if you want to continue along the same lines as [name]Hope[/name], [name]Grace[/name] would be my pick here).
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] (gorgeous! [name]Maeve[/name] reminds me of [name]Isla[/name] too )
I love [name]Audrey[/name]! I think the following previous suggestions are gorgeous -
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Lane[/name]
All of the above are perfect and I’d use them in a heart beat.
Thanks everyone!
I like [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Belle[/name]. . but it sort of sounds like a new name to me - like [name]Mirabelle[/name], [name]Annabelle[/name], Audreybelle. . .kwim?
[name]Lemon[/name] - [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Faye[/name] just sounds too. . .southern? For me. . .
So far I [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] - dh said it was a mouthful, which it sort of is, but really, how often do you say the kid’s entire full name?
I like [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Jean[/name]! What about [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Mae[/name]? And maybe [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Bette[/name] instead of [name]Betty[/name]…?
I vote [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Klaire[/name]. I had a beautiful baby girl named [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Klaire[/name] that that passed away & with either spelling I think it is the most beautiful name I have ever heard. [name]May[/name] God bless you & your baby girl.
I really like [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Olivia[/name]. Has anyone also suggested
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]? So classically pretty, like [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Olivia[/name].
one of these days, lol! He’s the one who wants the name “firmed up” before our ultrasound in a month. The dork
[name]Aurora[/name] (nn [name]Rory[/name]) - kind of cool. . .sort of a mouthful, but I’ll think on it. [name]Rory[/name] is a pretty cute nn. I tried talking him into [name]Lorelei[/name] but we kind of have a dog named that, lol, so he couldn’t be sold!
[name]Aveline[/name] - He says it’s too [name]Texas[/name].
[name]Belle[/name] - He says it’s too Disney movie. I like it though.
[name]Cora[/name] - our cuz’s baby name, too bad, I think it’s very cute.
[name]Camille[/name] - I’m tried to sell him on this one a thousand time, love it and think it would be great with [name]Isla[/name], he thinks it sounds like Camel.
[name]Daphne[/name] - we both have family members with dog’s named this. nope.
[name]Gemma[/name] - mmm. . .I like [name]Ginny[/name] - like from [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name], maybe full name Gineva (sp?)
[name]Juliet[/name] - ca’nt use [name]Julie[/name], [name]Julia[/name] or [name]Juliet[/name] for family reasons.
[name]Marielle[/name]- ummm not feeling it.
[name]Miranda[/name] - we talked about [name]Miranda[/name], [name]Mandy[/name] is cute, we didn’t get any further than that though. . .
[name]Maeve[/name]- i really can’t get excited about this, or [name]Maura[/name]
[name]Margot[/name] (nn [name]Maisie[/name]) - neh.
[name]Phoebe[/name] - too "friends’
[name]Ruby[/name] - I love this, dh nope.
[name]Simone[/name] - nah.
[name]Scarlett[/name]- dh says it would be lovely, if we had a red head baby.
thanks for the help! See what I’m up against here! LOL I have no clue how I ever convinced him of [name]Isla[/name]!
You’ll find something! You could always start suggesting names to him like Mulva and [name]Hortense[/name], so that in comparison, the previous names he’s rejected suddenly sound amazing to him!
What about [name]Genevieve[/name]? It could give you [name]Ginny[/name], [name]Evie[/name], or even [name]Vivi[/name]. You may also like [name]Ginevra[/name]. I love [name]Gemma[/name] with [name]Isla[/name], too.
