[name]Audrey[/name] 100%
[name]Aubrey[/name] feel so masculine - reminds me of [name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Graham[/name] AKA: [name]Drake[/name] (the rapper). It’s also extremely trendy and overdone.
[name]Audrey[/name] is all class and sophistication.
I do prefer [name]Audrey[/name] but still like them both.
I think they are both okay, I guess, but I know one [name]Audrey[/name], and she is older (mid-fifties?), so I think [name]Aubrey[/name] is better. I’m not really a big fan of either name, though.
I like both because I’ve always loved [name]Audrey[/name] and I read a book with an [name]Aubrey[/name] (female) as the main character, and I fell in love with the name. But I acknowledge that there are a fair amount of male Aubreys out there (and they all seem to be famous – strange). I’m not usually a fan of boys’ names on girls, but I don’t think that’s the case here. I’m surprised people are saying [name]Aubrey[/name] is trendy and popular though – I had no idea! [name]Do[/name] you mean it’s trendy and popular for girls or boys?
[name]Aubrey[/name], but it’s too…juvenile feeling on a girl.
And I don’t get how people think [name]Aubrey[/name]'s more masculine than [name]Audrey[/name]…the “br” sound is softer, and more feminine than the “dr” sound imo.
[name]Audrey[/name]'s a more grouded name, whereas [name]Aubrey[/name] more airy, and light.
It’s not that I think it sounds more masculine. It’s just that I’ve known lots of male Aubreys (well, not “known,” but seen famous men with the name), so as much as I [name]LOVE[/name] the name for a little girl, I think the first thing that comes to many people’s minds is “That’s a guy’s name.” (That’s what my husband said.)
[name]Audrey[/name] for me. It’s so classic and feels a bit glamorous a la [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn. I’ve met a few Audreys who all rocked the name, it’s such a perfect name.
I love [name]Aubrey[/name], but on a boy. It just looks masculine, sounds masculine, to me. There are a lot of “Br” names on girls lately, but a lot of them either originated as boys’ names ([name]Bryn[/name]), are feminine versions of boys’ names ([name]Briana[/name], [name]Brenna[/name]), or are made-up ([name]Braelyn[/name]). Strong boys’ names like [name]Bryan/name, [name]Brody[/name], [name]Brendan[/name]/[name]Brennan[/name], etc., are all a bit soft, but still distinctly masculine to me, so that only helps to cement the “br” part as masculine to me.
[name]Audrey[/name] is one of my favorite names. It’s classic and feminine, yet not too girly.
[name]Aubrey[/name] is a traditionally male name, that’s why people see it as masculine. I do like it better on a girl because of it’s similarity to [name]Audrey[/name], but I still don’t like it all that much. To me, [name]Aubrey[/name] has become trendy. It grew quickly in popularity, it’s a boy name gone girl, and there are a ton of made up spellings ([name]Aubree[/name], [name]Aubrie[/name]) that are pretty popular too (I say that because I’m sure there are people that have used [name]Audrie[/name] or [name]Audree[/name] but it’s a lot less common, correct me if I’m wrong).
[name]Audrey[/name] by a mile, I love [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn so for me the name [name]Audrey[/name] has class and culture and is just brilliant but [name]Aubrey[/name], I don’t know, I don’t like it much as a name at all really so [name]Audrey[/name] it is, simply yet sophisticated, why mess with something so beautiful is my opinion
I like them both, but voted [name]Aubrey[/name] as it feels like the warmer, softer name of the two.
I do like them both, but I was going to use [name]Audrey[/name] on my first daughter, and changed it to [name]Ava[/name] because a friend (at the time) was having a girl and had [name]Aubrey[/name] picked out since high school.
I love [name]Aubrey[/name]. I’m not a fan of [name]Audrey[/name] at all. and I have never even heard of a boy named [name]Aubrey[/name], so it definitely doesn’t come across to me as masculine at all.
[name]Audrey[/name]! I agree with everything that’s been said.
Although I know a 10 year old [name]Aubrey[/name] (and she is the sweetest!) I prefer [name]Audrey[/name], always. [name]Audrey[/name] just oozes class, and I love the [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn association. I find [name]Aubrey[/name] very trendy and it won’t age as well as [name]Audrey[/name].
Voted “like both.” [name]Audrey[/name] is more classic, but I’d rather be an [name]Aubrey[/name] or an [name]Audra[/name]. I suppose the Hepburn image is a lot to live up to.
Also, what do we think of [name]Audrina[/name]? I’m ambivalent. Part of me approves, part of me considers it an unnecessarily frilly variation of [name]Audrey[/name], and part of me thinks it could be tainted by reality TV and a V. C. Andrews novel.
I know a really great [name]Aubrey[/name], so I have positive associations from her, but I really prefer [name]Audrey[/name].
[name]Audrey[/name], for me. It oozes class and sophistication. [name]Aubrey[/name] is very trendy and will fade fast as a girls name, and go back to the boys eventually imo.
