[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! So after all my borderline crazy obsessing with finding the right girl name, we have found out that we are having another boy! Big brother is [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]. My husband and I like the names [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_m]Levi[/name_m]. I personally think they both sound good with [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] - but my hesitation with [name_m]Levi[/name_m] is that together they sound very biblical and I don’t necessarily want them to be so categorized, since I might feel limited with future kids (or maybe I wouldn’t, who knows). My hesitation with [name_u]August[/name_u] is that he will likely be born in [name_u]August[/name_u] and for some reason that feels weird to me. To me [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] sound nice together because they both have a strong but gentle feel to them - but I am wondering what you all think. We aren’t really nickname people ourselves, but I can see other people calling them [name_m]Gabe[/name_m] and [name_u]Gus[/name_u] as they get older and I think those are pretty darn cute together, too. Thank you!
I love [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] together! It’s actually one of my favorite sibsets.
I think [name_u]August[/name_u] is a great compliment to [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], and [name_u]Gus[/name_u] and [name_m]Gabe[/name_m] is pretty adorable.
I wouldn’t worry about [name_u]August[/name_u] being born in [name_u]August[/name_u]… Yeah, I can see how it would be a little odd, but I think it’s an easy enough thing to move past. My mother wanted to name me [name_f]Virginia[/name_f], despite living in [name_f]Virginia[/name_f].
Thank you both for your thoughts - I am feeling more and more excited about [name_u]August[/name_u]
I think [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] would make a fine duo of brothers. I wouldn’t worry too much about the month.
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] are so handsome together! I would normally pick [name_m]Levi[/name_m] as going better stylistically, but if you want to avoid a biblical theme, I’d steer clear. I definitely agree that [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] are both strong but gentle.
I would probably feel funny about naming my [name_u]August[/name_u] baby [name_u]August[/name_u] too, though. (My sister even thought it would be too weird to name an [name_u]August[/name_u] baby [name_m]Leo[/name_m]! but she’s a [name_m]Leo[/name_m] so I think she was more sensitive to that than most would be.) Not to deter you, I wouldn’t judge anyone else for doing so! But that would be my only hesitation.
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] - perfect together!
Congrats on your boy! I think [name_m]Gabe[/name_m] and [name_u]Gus[/name_u] are super cute together. As for [name_u]August[/name_u] being born in [name_u]August[/name_u], I like it when month or season names match up with the birth month. I know a little girl whose middle name is [name_f]Mai[/name_f] partly because she was born in [name_f]May[/name_f].
I haven’t read the other responses yet, but I have to say I love [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] together. You are completely right that both names are strong but kind sounding. I don’t think it’s a problem that [name_u]August[/name_u] might be born in [name_u]August[/name_u]. I bet a lot of people will “cleverly” ask him “Were you born in [name_u]August[/name_u]?” either way (My sister is named [name_u]August[/name_u] and she gets it all the time - She was actually born the next day, on Sept 1st, haha). Go for it! [name_u]August[/name_u] is one of our top boy choices too. I think [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Levi[/name_m] is such a handsome name.
[name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] are a perfect pair!
As soon as I read this title I thought. … yes!
