Our last name is Holder.
Expecting a boy in [name_u]December[/name_u].
Husband loves [name_u]August[/name_u] as do I. He really wants the mn [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]. I wont straight up veto it, but I can change the first name.
I’ve had people say it sounds like you’re describing a brook.
I think it’s nice. “[name_u]August[/name_u]” doesn’t really make sense as an adjective to describe a brook, so I don’t see that problem. I like the combination.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]! The combo sounds strong and masculine
[name_u]August[/name_u] Holder doesn’t sound like you’re describing a book at all, it sounds charming. Although [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] Holder… Book Holder… I wouldn’t worry too much about that though! Unless you intend on saying [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] Holder rather than simply [name_u]August[/name_u], Auggie or [name_u]Gus[/name_u] when in casual conversation haha
Until my friend named her child [name_u]August[/name_u] and I started working with a man named [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], I would have said no way! But now I like both names and I think they go well together!
Not loving [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], it’s a bit too harsh for my liking, especially since I love the softness of [name_u]August[/name_u].
But beyond my own “liking” of the name, I think that the combo flows nicely and sounds good.
I like it a lot! Although, it makes me think of country singer [name_m]Garth[/name_m] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] daughter [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], but that’s not a bad thing. He and his family lives like 20 minutes away from me (although they’re moving soon), so that’s probably why I think of her. lol
