August Charles or August Henry?

DH & I have been discussing the name [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] for awhile now, but DH just brought up the suggestion of [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] honor family. Which do you prefer?

Also, if we decided to save [name_u]August[/name_u] for a future child, do you think [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] & [name_u]August[/name_u] would make a good sibset?

First off, congrats! Children must be such a huge blessing, I cannot wait until I’m a mom!

Second, I prefer [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] to [name_u]August[/name_u]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are lovely, but I have feminine connections with [name_u]August[/name_u] (my FEMALE elementary art teacher was named [name_u]August[/name_u]). I think [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is a nice combo. [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] irks be a bit because both [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] and [name_m]Charles[/name_m] are one syllable long, so it doesn’t really have a nice flow, [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. If you do decide to use [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is the way to go. And yes, [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] would make a nice sibset.

Have you considered using [name_m]Henry[/name_m] as the first name? I think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] would be a breathtaking combo. Also, [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is a good combo, but maybe that’s a bit too much “family ties” for you? [name_m]Just[/name_m] an idea.

If you don’t mind, I have a few suggestions I’d like to share…
[name_u]Hunter[/name_u]
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Alek[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Eric[/name_m]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

[name_m]Both[/name_m] are handsome choices  I slightly prefer the flow of [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] over [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m].

I love [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] choice.

I adore [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

dramagrl19, Thanks for the suggestions. If we go with [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], we will use the middle name [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] (which is also a name honoring family).

I like [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] the best but for [name_u]August[/name_u] I would choose [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

I have a [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] so I’m all for [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] together, although [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] sounds better to me. I really like [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] and [name_u]August[/name_u] together.

[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] > [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. With a 2 then 1 syllable count is better than the monotone 2-2 count. It would be much worse with another 2 syllable like [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Johnson[/name_m]. I hope your last name is 3 syllables.

char-ulls? hen-ry? [name_m]Both[/name_m] 2 to me?

I love both combos. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] as suggested above would also be lovely.

[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is my favorite… Probably because I adore [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] is also really wonderful name.

[name_m]Charles[/name_m] is a one syllable name. I prefer [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] as I feel that [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is a little bit harder to say because the T at the end of [name_u]August[/name_u] and the Ch at the start of [name_m]Charles[/name_m] being quite similar.

I’m actually loving [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] now.

I love all the choices! I have a son named [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. His full name is [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m], but we also considered [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. While I love [name_u]August[/name_u], I don’t care for [name_u]Gus[/name_u] as a nickname. I think [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] looks and sounds so sophisticated, yet cool and fun. Great name! [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] seems a bit more stuffy? Good luck!

[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] is even better though.

I definitely prefer [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I think [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] and [name_u]August[/name_u] would make a great set of brothers.

[name_f]Cora[/name_f], I just had a name idea for you. WDYT of [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]? It fits with your style. I have a bunch of ideas, but let me know what you thunk about this one.

drama, I am indifferent on [name_m]Luke[/name_m]. I don’t dislike it, but I’m not head-over-heels in love with it. I think it just has too much of a nickname-y feel to me. Unfortunately, DH is not too keen on it.

I prefer [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. And I prefer [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] to the suggestion of [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u]. And I love [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] and think [name_u]August[/name_u] & [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] make nice bros.
