August Frederick with nn Gus?

[name]Do[/name] you like the name [name]Gus[/name]? I love [name]Frederick[/name] as the middle name and [name]Gus[/name] is a short form of [name]August[/name]. I’m not totally sold on [name]Gus[/name].
What do you think?
Thank you Xx

Personally I love nn [name]Gus[/name].

Absolutely love everything about it. [name]August[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] is so sturdy and handsome, and I love both names, and NN [name]Gus[/name] is adorable. Perfect!

I think [name]August[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] is great! I don’t mind [name]Gus[/name] as a nickname, it’s cute.

I personally don’t understand the fuss over the [name]August[/name] names. [name]Gus[/name] isn’t attractive to me at all. I just find the whole [name]August[/name]/[name]Augustin[/name]/[name]Augustus[/name]/[name]Augustine[/name] group incredibly stuffy, which is strange considering my taste in names. [name]August[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] is a good name though. I’d much rather meet an [name]August[/name] than an [name]Aiden[/name].

I know this is an old thread but it caught my eye because our son is [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. We call him [name_u]Gus[/name_u] (and sometimes [name_u]Gus[/name_u] [name_u]Gus[/name_u] and sometimes [name_u]Gussy[/name_u]).

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! I’m planning to use [name_m]Angus[/name_m] nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u] if/when I am blessed with a second son! To me, [name_u]Gus[/name_u] can be many things… country, cute, masculine, suave, debonair… It has that kind of “I don’t give a dern” kind of self assured air- and to me, that makes it cool.

I love [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] and think it’s a good, strong and handsome name indeed, however, I loathe [name_u]Gus[/name_u]. [name_u]August[/name_u] is great and needs not a nickname, but should a nickname be required, I’d much prefer to hear Auggie than [name_u]Gus[/name_u].

I think ditching the nickname but keeping the combo would be the way to go.
