So I’m not currently pregnant but my fiancé and I already basically have names picked for our 2nd child. Our top boys name is [name_u]August[/name_u] or [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] because our anniversary is in [name_u]August[/name_u] and it works well with our firstborn [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]. I personally prefer [name_u]August[/name_u] with [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] but I do like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] which my fiancé and friends prefer so idk I’d like some opinions. Last name is similar to “Hutton” and middle name would be [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] because its a family name.
I much prefer [name_u]August[/name_u], especially with [name_u]Daniel[/name_u]! [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] would also work, but I love the straightforward strength of [name_u]August[/name_u].
Yes that was what I was thinking. I offered [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] as well but my fiancé seems to prefer August/Augustus but his hesitation with [name_u]August[/name_u] is thats its becoming fairly trendy and he plans to call him [name_u]Gus[/name_u]. But [name_u]Gus[/name_u] still works with [name_u]August[/name_u] and I’m willing to bet if we name him [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] he will just go by [name_u]August[/name_u] anyway.
I prefer [name_u]August[/name_u], personally [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] is a bit more clunky, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing though. [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] sounds really nice.
I prefer the more streamlined [name_u]August[/name_u] especially with [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]. They both feel distinguished but familiar. [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] feels more regal/frilly.
I also think [name_u]Gus[/name_u] is a natural nickname for [name_u]August[/name_u].
Idk your location but [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] and [name_u]August[/name_u] are very similar in popularity here in the US. (I think [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] is around 150 and [name_u]August[/name_u] 120)
I prefer [name_u]August[/name_u] - especially with brother [name_u]Arthur[/name_u], but both [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] and [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] sound great and either one could be [name_u]Gus[/name_u], so you really can’t go wrong!
Also of your 2 choices I like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] better. I do think of [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] Gloop at first however. BUT! I only mention it at all in case someone else were to ever say that to you. And the reason is, don’t ever let something like that get in your way. ESPECIALLY when it is not a name singular to one very well known character or person, i.e. [name_f]Cher[/name_f], [name_f]Madonna[/name_f], etc… I simply don’t happen to know another [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] and have watched that movie 10,000 times. But if I were to know you and your baby certainly the child would take over in my mind upon hearing the name. Secondly, this can literally happen with thousands of names. Don’t let nit-picky things get in the way of names you love or others tell you it’s enough to reconsider. Both names are lovely but I think [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] is more sophisticated.
I prefer [name_m]Augustus[/name_m], but I think [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Hutton[/name_u] sounds best because there are less repeating sounds.
If I could choose ant [name_u]August[/name_u]- variant, though, it would be [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] (pronounced uh - GUS - tihn)!
[name_u]Augustine[/name_u]! I don’t love [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] is okay, but [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] is best!
I love [name_u]August[/name_u]! I feel like [name_u]August[/name_u] is more modern, [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] feels very European and old fashioned in my opinion.
However my favourite is [name_u]August[/name_u]. I just prefer the laid back outdoorsy vibe of [name_u]August[/name_u]. [name_u]August[/name_u] feels so wholesome and relaxed with a subtle country vibe. I really like [name_u]August[/name_u] as a brother for [name_u]Arthur[/name_u].
