We just can’t decide. Middle name is [name_m]Walter[/name_m] and last name sounds very similar to [name_u]Eagle[/name_u]…
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Walter[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Augie[/name_m])
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m] (not sure if we like the repeating -er ending)
…any other thoughts?
Yeah… [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] sound a little weird together. I’m not a fan of putting names with the same endings together. I vote for [name_u]August[/name_u]. It’s lovely.
[name_u]August[/name_u] is a great name, [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] is underwhelming.
As you said the repeating -er endings and repeating two-syllable, surnames don’t flow well. Also repeating surname names can sound more like a law firm name than an individual’s name.
Thus, [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Walter[/name_m] is superior in every way!
Ha! That does sound like a law firm. Thanks for the help.
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] are too matchy. Plus, [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] is nothing special for me. I know a [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] and he is constantly teased as [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] the Pooper. [name_u]August[/name_u] is a far better choice.
I agree that the -er -er in [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m] does not sound good. [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Walter[/name_m] nn [name_m]Augie[/name_m] gets my vote!
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Walter[/name_m] flows better than the matchy combo of [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m]. [name_u]August[/name_u] is strong and majestic. [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] is a trendy occupational name that blends in with all of the other similar “er” names. Also, boys with the name [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] are often given the nn of [name_m]Coop[/name_m] so if you surname sounds like a bird ([name_u]Eagle[/name_u]) that wouldn’t be ideal ([name_u]Bird[/name_u] coop :)).
If you’re set on using [name_m]Walter[/name_m] as a middle, then I vote for [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Walter[/name_m]. If you are willing to shorten it to [name_m]Walt[/name_m], [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] [name_m]Walt[/name_m] sounds really cute.
I vote for [name_u]August[/name_u] as I prefer that name and dislike the matchy endings with [name_m]Cooper[/name_m].
Another vote for [name_u]August[/name_u].
