I prefer [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] because [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] always used to remind me of a witch.
I prefer [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] to [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]. I also like the nickname [name_u]August[/name_u] better than any of the nicknames for [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]. I would suggest [name_f]Agata[/name_f] since I think it’s very pretty and has elements of both [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] and [name_f]Agatha[/name_f].
I absolutely love both of these names, as well as the nicknames [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] and [name_u]Gussie[/name_u]. I finally went with [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], but it was tough.
I prefer [name_f]Augusta[/name_f]. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], I think it’s the first syllable that bothers me.
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] is lovely. [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] sounds kind of …gross?.. for lack of a better word. I really don’t know how else to describe it, I’m so sorry if that offends anyone!
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] is the capital of my state ([name_f]Maine[/name_f]) so I voted for [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]
I want to love [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] (I like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]) but I just can’t come around to it. [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] 100%
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is my preference. The nickname [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] is adorable, and [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] has a very lacy, Victorian feel to it. [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] is okay, but the nicknames for it are not great. [name_u]Gus[/name_u] is too masculine, and [name_u]Gussie[/name_u] sounds like hussy.
I prefer [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], as I find [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] rather harsh, and heavy.
I prefer [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] I think it’s more approachable although I don’t dislike [name_f]Augusta[/name_f]. I do like [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_m]Augustine[/name_m].
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is all shiny and cute to me because of the jewelry line, so she got my vote over gusty [name_f]Augusta[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], way better than [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], even though everyones going to choose it.
I hate the nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u] or Auggie. They sound gross to me.
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] sounds cute has a better choice of nns too, like [name_f]Aggy[/name_f], [name_m]Iggy[/name_m], or Gato.
Thanks all - keep the opinions coming! It’s actually closer than I would have imagined. Maybe I should have added a third option, for neither? I know those hard G sounds can be divisive.
I much prefer [name_f]Augusta[/name_f]. [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] always makes me think of a TV show where they’d call the character “Hagatha”.
