[name_m]Alistair[/name_m] is a beautiful name!
I personally love [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] best! I haven’t met anyone under age 35 bearing this name, I would find it so refreshing on a baby - a strong, classic, handsome and unexpected choice.
I much prefer [name_m]Alistair[/name_m]!
I really love both, but I slightly prefer [name_m]Alistair[/name_m]
I just gave MY opinion. There is absolutely nothing harsh and my comment was respectful. I’m not an American, I come from Europe so obviously for me [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] is a girl name and I would think he is a girl. I was just giving an information. If it was my thread, I would have liked to know that [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] is a feminine name in many countries in the world. I don’t understand why you are attacking me.
[name_u]Antoine[/name_u] doesn’t really finish by -ine/-in but -oine (you notice it when you pronounce it). It’s “[name_m]Antwan[/name_m]”. However, you have the boy name Antonin, and its feminine form: [name_f]Antonine[/name_f].
The masculine form of [name_f]Constance[/name_f] is actually [name_m]Constant[/name_m] and not [name_m]Constantin[/name_m] or [name_u]Constantine[/name_u]. [name_m]Constant[/name_m]/constance are [name_m]French[/name_m] names and words (constant is a masculine adjective and constance the feminine adjective form). I know it because I’m [name_m]French[/name_m] and use those words.
The -ine ending normally means it is a girl name (for Latin names). It’s also something I learnt in my linguistic class. I don’t think my teachers would lie.
But anyways, it’s off topic now
I’m honestly puzzled how pointing out that [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] is a well-recognized male name in English-speaking countries is attacking you.
To answer the original post question, I love both [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] and [name_m]Alistair[/name_m]. I would lean slightly toward [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] in this sibset, but you can’t go wrong with either!
