Aurelia nn Lily

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] can work as a nickname for [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]? If not, what other nicknames can be used?

I think if you’re angling for [name_f]Lily[/name_f] you should go with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] since it’s a decent name on it’s own. Other nicknames for [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]:
[name_u]Ara[/name_u]
[name_u]Elia[/name_u]
Rel
[name_m]Rei[/name_m]
[name_f]Rilla[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would be a fine nickname for [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]. Another option is [name_f]Lia[/name_f]/[name_f]Leah[/name_f].

I personally find [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] to be a stretch, sorry!

I guess it depends on how you say [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], though–is the “rel” bit in the middle like “RAIL”, “REL”, or “REEL”?

Other nns:

[name_u]Ari[/name_u]
[name_u]Ray[/name_u]/[name_u]Rae[/name_u]
[name_f]Lia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ria[/name_f]
[name_f]Goldie[/name_f] (as [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] means “golden”)
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]/[name_f]Ella[/name_f]/[name_f]Elle[/name_f]
Rell
[name_f]Aura[/name_f]/[name_u]Ara[/name_u]
Raley

Good luck!

I actually think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is definitely a possible nickname for [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], but would probably only be used by you and your immediate family. It has the right sounds for it to work. I’ve heard much more bizarre nicknames be used for names, honestly. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would also be a pretty combo!

I adore [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] (and [name_f]Lily[/name_f]). Here are my favorite nicknames for [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]:

[name_f]Lia[/name_f] (similar to [name_f]Lily[/name_f], very easy to pull this one off)
[name_u]Rae[/name_u]/[name_u]Ray[/name_u] (I pronounce the name oh-[name_u]RAE[/name_u]-lee-uh, so this nickname indicates how it ought to be pronounced, which I like. Also the name means “golden” so [name_u]Ray[/name_u] could be like “a ray of sunshine”!)
[name_u]Ari[/name_u] (a little less common but cute I think, and a little more gender neutral)
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] (a little harder to pull off since [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is a name on its own, but I think it could work)
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] (if you pronounce it aw-RELL-ee-uh this could work)

I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a lovely nn for [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f].

I find [name_f]Lily[/name_f] to be a bit of a stretch, but you might be able to pull it off. I love the name [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], so I have thought about this. I suspect I would end up informally defaulting to Relie, but some other possibilities might be:

[name_f]Aura[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lia[/name_f]

I think they’re too different, sorry!

I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] makes a great nickname for [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] idea!
