[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is the only one which is not a family name but I considered it for baby 3 (who ended up [name_f]Rose[/name_f]) and this will be my last (5th) baby so…
We have Irish heritage so I’d be keen on another short Irish name but they seem few and far between. I’ve always liked [name_f]Sadhbh[/name_f] and [name_f]Iseult[/name_f] but DH not so keen and rightly says they would confuse the non-Irish amongst whom baby will be raised.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is one of my middle names so I’m least committed to use that. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] would be too much of a mouthful anyway!
[name_f]Patricia[/name_f] is my mother in law and my brother is [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] and baby due around St [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]’s [name_u]Day[/name_u]…
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is phenomenally gorgeous and is, in my opinion, the best name of the bunch. Though I can tell that honoring family is important to you, and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] flows better than the [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] combinations do, methinks. So it’s a tough call. Overall, I would choose [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] personally, but all of these names are solid choices. I hope I helped, even if I’m waffling.
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] is really lovely and if you tend to like short first names, you may be happiest with it in the long run. I think [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a wonderful sister name for [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
While I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f], I have to say, my favourite of your combos is [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]!
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is lovely! I think you might regret not using it in the long run, since this could be your last baby girl. And it’s beautiful! [name_f]Jane[/name_f]'s a solid classic, but it doesn’t seem like you love it like you do [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is beautiful though i like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] too for its meaning
I really love [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] ([name_f]Eva[/name_f]) [name_f]Jane[/name_f]! I do prefer [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] to [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
Some other short Irish girls names are:
Aiofe (Ee-fah)
[name_f]Orla[/name_f]
Ciamhe (keeva)
[name_f]Niamh[/name_f] (Neev)
[name_f]Brid[/name_f] ([name_f]Bride[/name_f]- spelled with an accent but my keyboard doesn’t have one)
[name_f]Aine[/name_f] ([name_f]Anya[/name_f])
[name_f]Ailis[/name_f] (Ay-lish)
[name_f]Fia[/name_f]/[name_u]Fiadh[/name_u] (fee-ah)
[name_f]Nuala[/name_f] (Noola)
[name_f]Oona[/name_f]
[name_f]Emer[/name_f]
[name_u]Dara[/name_u]
[name_f]Eabha[/name_f] (AY-va)
[name_f]Eithne[/name_f] (En-ya)
[name_f]Rion[/name_f] ([name_f]Ree[/name_f]-un)
I love both of your combos! As an individual name, I prefer [name_f]Jane[/name_f] over [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], and so in the end that’s where my vote lies. I also love all the meaning in the middle names for your [name_f]Jane[/name_f] combo. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is also beautiful, I do have quite the soft spot for Gaelic spellings of names, so it was quite a tricky decision.
Anyways, hope you settle on a name you love, and congrats of #5!
I like the sound of [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] the most, but I’m going to choose [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] because it seems to have the most meaning for you.
I meant to ask initially is [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] better than [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]?
I would be happy to replace [name_f]Jane[/name_f] with an Irish name, but feel it would have to be one syllable. I’ve already used [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] for another daughter’s mn which I think just leaves me with [name_f]Sadhbh[/name_f] or [name_f]Niamh[/name_f]. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] sounds better than [name_f]Sadhbh[/name_f] and has meaning stretching back a few generations on one side. Never been mad on [name_f]Niamh[/name_f] for some reason.
Our boy name is [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] which goes well with our surname beginning with the letters Cl (our eldest has the similar sounding - the way we pronounce it - [name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f] as a mn). DH asked today about using [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] as a girl’s name (four of our kids have one syllable first names, one has three syllables). I explained that it’s currently much more popular for a girl, but I’m a traditionalist (have used [name_m]Saint[/name_m]’s names to date) and prefer it for a boy. What do you think???
The 5th meaning obviously applies whether we have a boy or a girl If we did decide to use it for a girl however, what middle names work from our list? The ones with meaning are [name_f]Patricia[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - in that order of importance - but do they go at all with [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]? I really love it when the entire name sounds good altogether so might have to start fresh which is a bit daunting 8 weeks out from D [name_u]Day[/name_u]…
DH not convinced on [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Jane[/name_f]… but open to [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] for a girl. It’s amazing how we go full circle with these things… [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] does go very well with our surname. So I guess it’d be [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f]… or
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] Aiobhe [name_f]Patricia[/name_f]…
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is better isn’t it??
I really like [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] (just as I like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] best from your first options - I find more appeal in understated rather than frilly names generally). I like [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] Aiobhe [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] best though [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is good there too. Aiobhe is just so interesting and unexpected and I like the flow better.
