Aurelia

how do you pronounce the name?

aw-reel-ya
aw-ray-lee-ya
other

would all the different pronunciations deter you from using the name?

I say Aw-[name_u]RAY[/name_u]-lee-uh, and it’s the only pronunciation I really like. I don’t think it would put me of using it. I’d just try and make sure to clarify the pronunciation as soon as possible, and reinforce it. I think there might be some awareness that [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] might have different pronunciations so hopefully it wouldn’t be too difficult to correct. Definitely worth it with as awesome a name as [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] :).

I would say a reel yuh. However, I know a little one and they say
A rail yuh.

I really like this name! When I look at it, I think Aw-rell-ee-uh, but I have no idea if this is a correct pronunciation, as I have never met a little [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] before

I would pronounce it Oh-ray-le-a actually.

I think people catch on pretty fast if they’ve heard someone say a name once or twice. Having several pronunciations is not a disadvantage in my eyes, and would not prevent me using a name.

aw-REEL-yah is how I’ve always pronounced.

Aw-ree-lee-ya for me. I think any other pronunciation is pretty too; it’s just a gorgeous name. I personally wouldn’t use it because I feel like it’s too close to my middle name ([name_f]Aurora[/name_f]), but it’s an amazing choice.

I would probably say it aw-reel-ee-a or oh-reel-ee-a

I say aw-[name_u]RAY[/name_u]-lee-ah. I find the aw-REEL-ya prn a bit grating, even tho it seems that’s the most common prn where the name is more commonly used.

I pronounce it aw-[name_u]RAY[/name_u]-lee-uh to avoid the possible ‘orally’ sound coming through (something like orally-ee-ah, if that makes sense, is what I’d avoid like the plague.)

I pronounce it ‘or-reely-a’, and it never even crossed my mind there could be other pronounciations!

Lately I’m saying ohr-[name_u]RAY[/name_u]-lee-ah. Like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] (for me! I go between loo-shah and loo-CHEE-ah all the time!), I generally cycle through which pronunciation I use. I used to say uh-REEL-yah, and lately I’ve been saying the other. And definitely not! I love [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], and if it was the name for me, I’d use it and deal with the pronunciations. I think [name_u]Ari[/name_u] and [name_f]Lia[/name_f] are adorable nns, too.

yea my fav pronunciation is aw-reel-lee-ah.

my husband doesn’t really like it as he says it’s too close to my niece’s name aria and his cousin’s name arianna.

I would prn Aw-RELL-ee-ah
