Not sure I could ever use it, but I’m trying to figure out what the pronunciation of it is? Or more importantly what the most common pronunciation is. It use to be on my list years ago. It’s a very pretty name that needs to be used more imo. Sorry to post so much.
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is lovely! The one I’ve met pronounced it uh-RAY-lee-uh, but I think there are a few commonly-used pronunciations!
Or-ray-lee-uh is how I pronounce it and the one I met pronounced it that way too. Or-ree-lee-uh wouldn’t surprise me either
i say aw-reh-lee-uh
i think it’s a very pretty name!
I’ve honestly never met anyone with this name and I wish I could. We have a major road where I’m from called [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] pronounced uh-ree-lee-us if I’m not mistaken. I don’t live in that area anymore so I don’t pronounce it or hear it pronounced.
I could see both. I don’t know which I’d go with. Probably uh-ree-Lee-uh although it would probably be uh-real-yuh to my family.
I also think it’s a pretty name. Not one you hear often either. I’ve never met one.
What are your favorite nicknames? I was thinking something common incase [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is too much for her
All 3 of these work:
I’d initially say are-ee-lee-uh but it looks like that isn’t the common pronunciation. It is very pretty though!
I say it uh-ray-lee-uh
I love the name Aurelia. I love the sound and the meaning. I think it’s very useable particularly with Amelia, Aria and Aurora being/becoming so popular!
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is a lovely name! I’ve only ever heard it pronounced oh-RAY-lee-ah.
Thank you! This is one of those names with no clear pronunciation since it seems like everyone pronounces it differently.
Yeah my problem is everyone seems to pronounce it differently. So it seems complicated even though I know it’s not.
I say it Or-reh-lee-ah, sometimes Uh-reh-lee-ah. Both are so pretty!
Thank you I know everyone seems to pronounce it differently.
It is very pretty
I’d be interested in knowing where everyone is from, I have a feeling that influences the pronunciation of the name quite a bit.
For me though I say or-REH-lee-uh/ uh-REH-lee-uh
I say aw-REE-lee-ah, rhymes with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. But I’m sure I’d quickly catch on to another pronunciation, all seem pretty intuitive to me. It’s a very pretty name!
perhaps…I’m from the UK say uh-RAY-lee-uh but I believe [name_f]Katinka[/name_f] is also from the UK she says aw-REE-lee-ah
