I’m just looking at different names to add to my signature at the moment and I stumbled across [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] and [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m]–but I can’t decide which one to use. I’m not 100% on what his middle name(s) would be yet but [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] is a contender. Which do you prefer and why? Thanks in advance!
I really like [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m]. For me, I prefer it because I think it’s much more extravagant than [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m].
I prefer [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m], I don’t really like -us names.
This was hard between the two. I was thinking on it for a little bit, but I think I am more leaning toward [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m].
Both sound great with the middle name [name_m]Jackson[/name_m].
I prefer [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m].
[name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] is beautiful!
I prefer [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m]/[name_m]Aurelien[/name_m]. I find names ending in “-us” feel a little over the top; [name_m]Aurelien[/name_m] and [name_m]Julian[/name_m] were on my list when I was pregnant with our son, but not [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] or [name_m]Julius[/name_m]. That being said, if you like that extra bit of drama, go for it! I met a little [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] last year and was so thrilled to hear the name, even if I wouldn’t use it myself.
I like both but would be more inclined to use [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m]!
I [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] is more accessible version of a grand name.
I go back and forth with these names. With [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] as a middle, I would 100% choose [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] because I don’t like when first and middles both end with an -n.
[name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] feels more usable to me, as the -ian/-an ending is a lot more common with names in use today than the -us ending which feels a bit consigned to the domain of [name_m]Roman[/name_m] emperors and 19th-century eccentric British aristocrats. [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] sounds a lot better than [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] though. Would you consider [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]?
I love [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m]! it’s so handsome. I agree [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] sounds a little better with mn [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. If you don’t mind the same ending though, I don’t think it [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] sounds bad at all!
I prefer [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] but I think [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] flows better.
Thank you for all of your help! It’s definitely given me something to ponder and it’s helped having other people’s opinions. @bonfireazalea I probably wouldn’t use [name_m]Jack[/name_m] as [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] is a family name and where I live [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is really popular, thank you for the suggestion anyway!
[name_m]Aurelian[/name_m]. The -us ending makes me think of a creature, like OctopUS
I also think -an is a more solid ending.
