I’ve recently started really liking the name [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u] and I think it’d work as a sibling name for my son [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]. But I’m concerned that it’s a super American sounding name. Any fellow Australians out there who’d like to share their thoughts/vibes/feelings on the name [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u]?
Thanks!
I’m not Australian but not American either.
Wyatt is handsome and not too American at all.
Perfectly usable name in Australia I’d say! [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] and [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u] sound great together.
I’m from the UK [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u] doesn’t strike me as American. I think it sounds great with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]. [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u] us actually an [name_f]English[/name_f] surname which means [name_u]Brave[/name_u]
I’m Australian and [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u] feels extremely American to me. That shouldn’t stop you from using it though. Whilst they do feel somewhat different in style I could definitely see siblings named [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] and [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u]!
I’m American and [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u] reminds me of [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u] Earp, a literal American cowboy. Have you seen the movie Tombstone???
Wyatt does sound like a cowboy name but it is a relatively common name in the US, in the top 50 since 2010.
I’m in [name_m]Oz[/name_m]. I think it does have an “American” vibe, but it wouldn’t be out of place. Especially considering names like [name_m]Luke[/name_m], [name_m]Jake[/name_m], [name_u]Tyler[/name_u], [name_u]Austin[/name_u], and [name_u]Eli[/name_u] - all of which have an American vibe, but fall in our Top 100 this year.
It’s a fresh but familiar name that sounds lovely next to [name_m]Harvey[/name_m].
