Autumn or Zara? Baby girl coming soon

My husband and I have narrowed down our baby names to [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f]. She’s due in three weeks and we’d love to decide before she arrives. We’re both teachers and so we were looking for names that aren’t super common, but not so different it’d be hard to pronounce. We think [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is a beautiful name with lovely connotations and [name_f]Zara[/name_f] is a bit more exotic. Her middle name is going to be [name_f]Milena[/name_f], a family name. Any help deciding between the two would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, I love the name [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]! [name_f]Zara[/name_f] is too common. Too close to [name_f]Sara[/name_f]/[name_f]Sarah[/name_f] and to the brand!
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Milena[/name_f] is such an original and beautiful name! Go for it!

I vote [name_f]Zara[/name_f] <3 It’s such a pretty name, and I love it paired with Milena : )

[name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Milena[/name_f] is very pretty.

I love [name_f]Zara[/name_f]. It feels classic (with a twist), sophisticated, multicultural. [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] feels more old-fashioned, but has a [name_f]LOVELY[/name_f] sound and is perhaps kinder (as in I would expect an [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] to be kind, but have no feeling about [name_f]Zara[/name_f] as to whether she sounds kind or not).

Actually, statistics say [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] (which ranks #65) is way more popular than [name_f]Zara[/name_f] (#482). Of course this could differ where you live, but where I live I have found the statistics to hold true. I’ve only met one [name_f]Zara[/name_f] in my life (btw, she gets compliments on her name all the time) and several Autumns.

As far as [name_f]Zara[/name_f]'s resemblance to [name_f]Sara[/name_f], the one girl I knew named [name_f]Zara[/name_f] didn’t pronounce her name to rhyme with [name_f]Sara[/name_f]. She pronounced it like zawr-uh (not zair-uh), and as far as I know there was never any confusion with the name [name_f]Sara[/name_f].

I don’t know anyone with the name of [name_f]Zara[/name_f], and I like it better than [name_f]Autumn[/name_f].

Also, [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Milena[/name_f] is awkward because the middle name begins with the same letter as the first name ends with, M.

[name_f]Zara[/name_f] is pretty, simple, and seems easy to pronounce. A lot of spunk for a four letter name.

I think [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] flows better with [name_f]Milena[/name_f] than [name_f]Zara[/name_f], but both are nice options. I’d go with [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], since it has so much nice imagery. And it seems there is a bit of confusion on the pronunciation of [name_f]Zara[/name_f]. All the Zaras I’ve know pronounce it Zahr-ruh, not [name_m]Zair[/name_m]-uh. Not sure which pronunciation you were going for, but there is that to consider.

Definitely [name_f]Zara[/name_f]!!

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] all the way!!

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is beautiful, and her being born in the fall makes it all the more lovely.

[name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Milena[/name_f] is gorgeous!

Both are nice names, [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Milena[/name_f] sounds better together, I like the name [name_f]Zara[/name_f] better though!

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] hands-down gets my vote!

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f]!!! I love that name…

[name_f]Zara[/name_f] for sure! As pp said, [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Milena[/name_f] runs together a bit, imo.
