Ava and Mia - Are they too matchy?

My partner and I are considering the names [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] for 2 daughters. [name]Ava[/name] has been my favourite girl’s name for about 5 years now, I just love it. [name]Mia[/name] would be definitely my second favourite girls name but I worry that the two names together as a sibset are too matchy with both only having 3 letters and 2 syllables and then ending the same.

Your thoughts? If it helps, brother is [name]Jack[/name].

I think they sound fine together. Although both three letters, two syllables, ending in the -ah sound, I think the names themselves are different enough to work.

They’re stylistically similar, in a good way. I think [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] are the most distinctly different of the three letter, two syallable girls names. For example, [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Eva[/name], [name]Mia[/name] and [name]Ria[/name] simply don’t work!

[name]Jack[/name], [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] sound good together

Not matchy but it sounds like [name]Ave[/name] [name]Maria[/name]. Maybe when you day them better off to flip and say [name]MIA[/name] & [name]Ava[/name]. I like that both are 3 letters. Or if feel that are too matchy then maybe [name]Ava[/name] & [name]Amelia[/name], so 2 names beginning with A but could use nn [name]MIA[/name] for [name]Amelia[/name].

I agree that it’s fine. [name]Ave[/name] [name]Maria[/name] didn’t even enter my mind. I think [name]Jack[/name], [name]Ava[/name], and [name]Mia[/name] are great together, all short-and-sweet and very familiar.

[name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] are fine as sisters.

I actually love [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] together!

I don’t love it, but they’re not horrible together. And I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Jack[/name]- you have good taste!

I know an [name]Ada[/name] and a [name]Mia[/name] so it sounds fine to me!

[name]Jack[/name], [name]Ava[/name] & [name]Mia[/name] would be lovely little sibset, the three names are pretty popular but they work well together.

I also think [name]Jack[/name], [name]Ava[/name] & [name]Ruby[/name] would be perfect too.

It fits perfectly together! [name]Jack[/name], [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] are all adoreable names.

They’re a touch matchy, but not overly so. I actually find the suggested [name]Amelia[/name] even more more matchy with [name]Ava[/name], since they both start and end with “A”. Maybe [name]Emilia[/name] instead? But I think [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] are fine for sisters, and both go great with [name]Jack[/name].

I do have an [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] sibset, and I love it. [name]Ava[/name] [name]Dulcea[/name] & [name]Mia[/name] [name]Isobel[/name]. I never thought of them as being matchy. I have more trouble with the fact that I used two A names: [name]Aidan[/name] and [name]Ava[/name]. That turns into a tongue twister. [name]Ada[/name] or Avin gets spit out at times. But with [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] I’ve had no issues at all!

They are fine together. I know a few families that have this naming style (for instance, I know sisters [name]Nina[/name] and [name]Mia[/name], as well as [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Olivia[/name]). There is no problem with [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] together.

I like [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] together.

someone at my husband’s work has daughters ava and mia. i htink they are fine together - they are a touch similar in the ways you say but not anyhting that should stop you if you love the names!

Aww thanks, funnily enough before I met my partner, I always wanted to call my 2 girls [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] and my son was going to be [name]Jackson[/name] so [name]Jackson[/name], [name]Ava[/name] & [name]Ruby[/name]. He wanted to name our son after his dad who is called [name]Jack[/name] and I still liked [name]Jack[/name] so we compromised on that and then he agreed on the girls name [name]Ava[/name] which I have loved for about 5 years now. [name]Ruby[/name] was always second favourite for me but I have always liked [name]Mia[/name] as well.

I don’t think [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] are too matchy. Not at all. I think they’d go great together!

I think [name]Jackson[/name], [name]Ava[/name], & [name]Ruby[/name] would be a cute sibset!

Not matchy at all… Good choices and fit so nicely with [name]Jack[/name]

I know 2 people that named their daughters [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name]. [name]One[/name] of them is my best friend. In my opinion they sound Great together. My friend is now pregnant with her third and going to name her [name]Zara[/name]
