Ava Elizabeth or Delaney James

Which name is better?

  1. [name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
  2. [name]Delaney[/name] [name]James[/name]

I have a son named [name]Jackson[/name] [name]Reid[/name].

Thank you for your help. Time is short.

Tricky! [name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is so pretty and feminine next to [name]Jackson[/name] [name]Reid[/name] which I love, but [name]Ava[/name] is so common! If that doesn’t bother you though, then that’s fine  [name]Delaney[/name] is one of my favourite names and I love how it sounds with [name]Jackson[/name] although it’s very ambiguous with [name]James[/name] as a mn…Would you budge on [name]James[/name]? [name]Delaney[/name] [name]Jade[/name]?

[name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], times a million. [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] are two pretty, sophisticated, classic names while [name]Delaney[/name] [name]James[/name] is a trendy surname plus a boy’s name. No question on that one for me!

[name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is beautiful. I agree with what irisrose said!

[name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], by a mile! [name]Delaney[/name] is less popular, but I consider it slightly more trendy, and I think trendiness is much more important. [name]Elizabeth[/name] is more popular than [name]Jennifer[/name], but it doesn’t seem dated at all. [name]Elizabeth[/name], the non-trendy name, is evergreen and always in style, but [name]Jennifer[/name] is far from stylish nowadays. And [name]Delaney[/name], being from a surname, is unisex, so I’d assume that parents chose “[name]James[/name]” to show that this [name]Delaney[/name] was a boy. I think [name]Ava[/name] is also much prettier than [name]Delaney[/name], and I have an easier time picturing [name]Ava[/name] at any age. [name]Delaney[/name] sort of gets odd sounding to me on anyone older than a teenager.

However, I think the combo is a tad boring. [name]Ava[/name] sort of begs for an interesting middle, and [name]Elizabeth[/name] is not an interesting middle by any means. Would you consider maybe [name]Ava[/name] [name]Delaney[/name]?

I much prefer [name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]!!!

[name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] by a trillion! Plus [name]Ava[/name] [name]Beth[/name] would be a super cute nn!

I’ll go with [name]Ava[/name], because I think it’s a better match to [name]Jackson[/name]. However, I don’t like [name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] because I think the flow is off - you’ve got back-to-back vowels and those are always awkward…

With spunky [name]Jackson[/name] [name]Reid[/name], would you consider something else with Miss [name]Ava[/name]? I’m thinking [name]Ava[/name] [name]Blair[/name], [name]Ava[/name] [name]June[/name], [name]Ava[/name] [name]Lark[/name], [name]Ava[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Ava[/name] [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Ava[/name] [name]Ruth[/name], [name]Ava[/name] [name]Tess[/name], or [name]Ava[/name] [name]Wren[/name]. My favorites are in bold!

[name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]

I would assume [name]Delaney[/name] [name]James[/name] was a boy.

I like the idea of [name]Ava[/name] [name]Delaney[/name]! Sounds spunky to me

[name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] by a country mile!

[name]Ava[/name] is a gorgeous name. Everyone named [name]Ava[/name] is so lucky. All class, femininity and glamour.

[name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] for sure!! I do love [name]Lemon[/name]'s suggestion of [name]Ava[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]!!! [name]Ava[/name], though popular is elegant, feminine and classy… to me it is a combo you just can’t go wrong with!!

Thank you for your help! Great suggestions

I will go with [name]Ava[/name], but maybe think of another middle name. My sister’s middle name is [name]Elizabeth[/name], so I was going to honor her.

I do like [name]Ava[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] and maybe even [name]Ava[/name] [name]Delaney[/name]. Good suggestions. [name]Just[/name] in time—Thursday is the day!

[name]Ava[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]

One last suggestion

[name]Ava[/name] Delori (de law ree)

Absolutely [name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]! Yes, it’s more popular than [name]Delaney[/name], but it’s by far prettier, more classic, and more feminine. I only know one girl named [name]Ava[/name], it’s not at all popular in New [name]England[/name], where I live. Plus [name]James[/name] is a boys name.

[name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I think it’s beautiful.

and also, agree with rollo & others. [name]Ava[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]'s a great combo

I vote [name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I think [name]Elizabeth[/name] is great as a mn for [name]Ava[/name]!

Maybe it’s just me but I can’t get the flow of [name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. They are two really nice names on their own but they sound kind of stilted together, with the vowels smacking into each other. What about [name]Ava[/name] [name]Meredith[/name]? It still has the same “ith” ending but flows on from [name]Ava[/name] a litte smoother…

[name]How[/name] about [name]Ava[/name] [name]James[/name]?

I also like [name]Ava[/name] the best, I’m glad you decided to go with it!
[name]Ava[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is nice, especially because you’re honoring your sister, but I think the flow could be better. Other suggestions [name]Ava[/name] [name]Delaney[/name], [name]Ava[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Ava[/name] [name]June[/name] are particularly nice!
Here are some others (sorry for any repeats):
[name]Ava[/name] [name]Bethany[/name] - you could still honor your sister!
