Ava, Isabel, Vivienne?

We’re getting awfully close to our baby’s due date and I’m still batting around names - help! As much as I love the name Eliza, it’s too similar to my own name imo.

Here are the names that have stuck from our original list. Does anyone have a favorite with our last name? Any advice or associations for this group? Many many thanks!

Ava Campbell (nn: Ave/ Avie)

Isabel Campbell (nn: Izzie)

Vivienne Campbell (nn: Vivi)

I’ve been calling her Ava for a while but worry it’s too popular / trendy and she’ll be one of many in her school or class. My heart is saying Ava Elizabeth (family name) or Ava Josephine but my head is interfering

[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_m]Campbell[/name_m] is lovely! [name_f]Ava[/name_f] flows best with your last name imo. I think you should follow your heart. :slightly_smiling_face:

Your heart loves [name_f]Ava[/name_f]! It’s gorgeous! Always use the name you love, regardless of popularity. I’ve been raising kids for almost nine years and working with kids for longer, and I’ve still never met an [name_f]Ava[/name_f]. Seriously–perceived popularity is never the reason to ditch the name you love!

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_m]Campbell[/name_m] :white_heart:it’s gorgeous and flows very well

If this is the name you love, you should just go for it regardless of popularity.

Both [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are beautiful, you can’t go wrong with either :sparkles:

I think [name_f]Ava[/name_f] is beautiful despite the popularity! There is a chance that she will be one of a few Ava’s, but I’ve never heard an [name_f]Ava[/name_f] nicknamed [name_f]Avie[/name_f] before so I think that makes it stand out in a really beautiful way.

I think [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_m]Campbell[/name_m] is beautiful. I agree that you should go with your heart and not worry about the popularity.

That said, if you really can’t bear using a top 10 name you could always use a name with the nickname [name_f]Ava[/name_f] so she’d have both options.

[name_f]Avery[/name_f]
[name_f]Aveline[/name_f]
[name_f]Avelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f]
[name_f]Avonlea[/name_f]
Aviona
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Avril[/name_f]
[name_f]Haven[/name_f]
[name_f]Raven[/name_f]
Avriel
[name_f]Mavis[/name_f]

[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_m]Campbell[/name_m] is lovely! I wouldn’t worry about popularity – she’s such a stunner and if you truly love the name then I say go for it!

Ava imo has the best flow and sounds like you love it the most! Just to help narrow things down Vivienne would be runner up (I love this spelling too!) And personally I would drop Isabel because of the repeating ‘bel’ endings.

[name_f]Ava[/name_f] is my favourite with your last name and I adore both of the middles you have in mind, especially [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
I hope you feel settled on an option soon

[name_f]Ava[/name_f] sounds like the perfect name for you!
If you imagine her as [name_f]Ava[/name_f], I believe that’s her name. [name_f]Ava[/name_f] flows beautifully with C@mpbell and the middle names you listed.
Follow your heart and intuition!

I love the name [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] but unfortunately I don’t think it works with your surname.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is a stunning choice, but I think [name_f]Ava[/name_f] works slightly better with the last name.

I personally like Vivienne best given your nickname choices. But all the names you have here are good!

If you really want to name her Ava… go ahead. While you can never know for sure, I doubt she’d be one of many in a class. Ava is (according to 2023 data) the eighth most popular name by rank, but only 0.55% of baby girls got that name - that is about 1 out of every 200 girls. Popular names aren’t as popular as they used to be.

[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful!!! [name_f]Ava[/name_f] is my favorite top 10 name. I almost never hear it either

Congratulations :tada:

Gosh you have such a classic timeless list.

I naturally gravitated towards [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] she’s romantic, elegant, has this pretty old school Hollywood glamour vibe and I love the nickname [name_f]Vivi[/name_f]. I also love [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] she’s very classic.

Looking at your other options [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is spunky and fun but appreciate that she may be too close to your own name so it may be a bit of a tongue twister. [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is a pretty name she’s sweet, elegant and has a fun ballerina imagery attached.

Finally moving onto [name_f]Ava[/name_f] I think she is your name. You clearly love [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and I completely understand why she’s sweet, looks visually pretty, has a bright sparkly sound and an old school Hollywood glamour feel. I honestly do not think [name_f]Ava[/name_f] is overtly popular I feel like she had a moment in the sun 10 years ago but now really isn’t used. I never come across Ava’s and as a mum of a little one I am surrounded around toddlers all the time. However UK statistics do not reflect this she is within the top #50 still she’s not everywhere. I really do not think your [name_f]Ava[/name_f] will share her name with anyone else in the her class nor will her name feel overtly trendy. I just think if you’re already referring to her as [name_f]Ava[/name_f] then maybe instinctively you know this is your baby’s name. [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful.

Wishing you all the best

I know a little girl named [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and she has 5 Ava’s in her group of 20 girl scouts! So she would definitely be one of many in the US. To me, it takes away the sparkle. [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] & [name_f]Vivian[/name_f] are both lovely too and less common (still trendy though)

Ahhh this is totally what I’m nervous about! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you mind sharing where you live? I’m in IL and my friend’s daughter has 1 [name_f]Ava[/name_f] in her kindergarten class. 5 is terrifying.

Thank you such much for your thoughtful message and being a cheerleader!

The [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_m]Campbell[/name_m] combo also concerns me - thanks for sharing your opinion on it! I know people use the combo but the repetitious sound of [name_f]Bel[/name_f] bugs me. Gosh I love the name and nicknames though!
