What do you think of the name [name_f]Ava[/name_f]? I teach a little girl named [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and she’s the sweetest thing, which is pushing me to like the name even more - but I’m scared it might be too overused.
What middle name would you pair with [name_f]Ava[/name_f]? I’d like something longer, but all I’ve thought of are [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - both a bit too plain.
I really love [name_f]Ava[/name_f] especially with a spunky middle name. I love all the old hollywood glam names. It is super popular. I only know a few little [name_f]Ava[/name_f]'s in real life (I know more [name_u]Harper[/name_u]'s and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]'s than [name_f]Ava[/name_f]'s), but on online forums I know of a lot.
As far as whether it’s too popular, it probably depends on where you live. I don’t have a lot of interaction with children, but I still know four Avas under 3-4 years old. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it’s super popular, I still love it and its association with [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]Gardner[/name_u]. I like it with classic-sounding names, even though that would probably mean that you’d have two popular names.
A little less popular:
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] (too Hollywood? Probably, but I think it’s pretty)
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
I think it’s lovely. I only know one, but I heard [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ava[/name_f] recently which I sort of like too. I think it needs something equally exotic/feminine/strong, but a bit more frilly…
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Marcella[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] (just googled it and this was [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]Gardner[/name_u]'s middle name, I’m in love with it)#
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Diantha[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Angelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] would be a nice MN but I feel like [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] could have [name_f]Ava[/name_f] as a nickname, so I’m not sure on them together.
I adore [name_f]Ava[/name_f]! It’s short, sweet, beautiful and easy to pronounce. I can definitely see why it is so popular. That is kind of a turn off for me, but I don’t know if it would stop me from using it.
I love the name [name_f]Ava[/name_f] but it is [name_m]WAY[/name_m] too common for me. I know of 4 with in 4 yrs of each other. One little girl is [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] I can’t get enough of her name!
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]
** [name_u]James[/name_u] is after her grandfather who passed before she was born, [name_f]Ava[/name_f] had all sisters she was their last try for a boy that’s why she has the name but I think anyone could get away with it especially family if it’s a family name
Oh my goodness…YES it is overused. Where I live, you can’t turn around without meeting yet another [name_f]Ava[/name_f]. It is pretty, but the popularity has turned me against it.
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] is definitely very popular where I live. There were 2 [name_f]Ava[/name_f]‘s in my daughter’ preschool class of 15 kids last year and I’ve met several others. The popularity would keep me from using it personally, but it is such a beautiful name. I really love [name_f]Avalon[/name_f]! It’s similar in sound, but a little more elaborate and unusual.
I think [name_f]Ava[/name_f] is lovely, but it is SO very popular. Characters named [name_f]Ava[/name_f] are all over television these days and you can’t walk through the airport or the grocery store without hearing a mom calling for a little [name_f]Ava[/name_f], let alone the playground.
That being said, it’s a very sweet, pretty, and classy name, with a hint of spice. I would definitely use it as a nickname only, with a longer form like Avamere, [name_f]Avalon[/name_f], or Avonlea to balance out the extreme popularity.
I love [name_f]Ava[/name_f]. I loved it since I first came across it in the early 2000s. The popularity statistics scared me away from it though. Despite this, I’ve only met one [name_f]Ava[/name_f] personally.
