It’s not a name I would use but I was listening to the Avett Bros (prn ay-vet) and my naming senses got the best of me and I decided to see if anyone had named their baby after them.
I couldn’t really find stats on it but I found this on babycenter

Hmm, it’s part [name]Avery[/name], part [name]Everett[/name]… and while I love both of those names, I don’t quite love Avett as much. It’s intriguing, but I much prefer the sound of [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Avery[/name].
I’ve never thought of using it, but I [name]LOVE[/name] the Avett Brothers. It excites me to see others who know them.

I would totally use (and have thought of using) the name, though probably in the middle before up front. I like its similar sounds to [name]Everett[/name] (I’m meh on [name]Avery[/name]) and the band has some importance to my relationship. Would be one of those sweet meaningful middle names.
I don’t think it will catch on much, though. Not that many people know the Avett Brothers (even after their tour with [name]Dave[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] Band). If you haven’t heard of the name from the band (or if you don’t have the name in your own family tree), I think you’re unlikely to know it at all…
I love the sound of Avett! I quite like [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Everett[/name] (and [name]Emmett[/name]) so it could catch on. Judging by the figures you have, it seems to have caught on already. On the 2011 statistics there were 11 Avetts born last year (in the US of A.)
It’s nice to see other fans on here! I cant see this name ever getting popular but it certainly has all the right ingredients to interest name enthusiasts imo.
