I like the name, but don’t know if it’s too far out there.
Avenly vs Avonlea
Which spelling do you prefer? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the name at all? Is it wearable?
I like the name, but don’t know if it’s too far out there.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] both But I’ve never seen Avenly before and I think I prefer this spelling too. Overall, I would say I prefer these names as middles though…but they would make a refreshing first name as well (especially Avenly). But I would go for [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_m]Avon[/name_m] or [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] as first names instead of Avonlea. IMHO, I feel Avonlea is a beautiful middle. Cheers!
I wouldn’t use it personally, the association with [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables is too strong. But I prefer the Avonlea spelling. And I do like the way it sounds.
Avonlea could be problematic. The pronunciation isn’t intuitive, so people unfamiliar with the book/show might have trouble with it. I would pronounce Avenly completely differently - AY-vehn-lee. Did you want it to be pronounced the same as Avonlea? I just don’t see how that makes sense.
I prefer Avonlea and yes, I really like this name. It’s definitely wearable.
I think its beautiful. [name_m]Ive[/name_m] never read [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of green Gables. I prefer the Avonlea spelling. I don’t think may people should have problems saying it right unless you live in a place where people are uneducated. I have actually added it to my list of potential names I think its so pretty.
Avenly doesn’t do anything for me - it looks like some sort of adverb. “He walked avenly to the store.” “The senators debated avenly about the tax implications of the bill.”
Avonlea, on the other hand? [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], and I think it’s completely usable. It wouldn’t stand too far out with [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] among the popular names, but the [name_f]Anne[/name_f] Of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables reference is wonderful and makes this one feel a bit distinct.
It’s one of those names that makes me think back to the show on the Disney channel. I really love Avonlea it’s on my list of names I wish I was bold enough to use myself.
I think it’s usable, but I really don’t care for either. Neither of the spellings look right to me and it feels a little awkward to say
I would pronounce these two names very differently.
Avenly a [name_m]VEN[/name_m] lee
Avonlea av ON lee
Personally, I prefer Avonlea but both are very lovely.
I think its pretty, but prefer the avenly spelling. Avonlea might get pronounced aven-leah
but either way, i like it
I would definitely say Avonlea. Avenly seems like it would be even more likely to be mispronounced and definitely mispelled. I prefer Avonlea in the middle spot, but I am a bit more traditional with names :). It’s very pretty.
