Avonmore

My son has a little girl in his class with this name. WDYT??

Wow! Huh. Makes me think a bit of Avonlea, and also of the [name]Avery[/name]/[name]Ava[/name] popularity. Googling suggests it’s a place name in PA and UK. Wonder if it’s a place name with meaning for the parents? Or even a surname? I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it either. It also makes me think a bit of “more [name]Avon[/name]”, like, more products, which is kind of unfortunate, but also, it’s not that strong an association.

Avonmore is a brand of milk, I don’t see it as a name. Avonlea is a brand of cookie where I live so I don’t see it as a name either, just a food item.

From what I’ve looked up, Avonmore is Irish and is typically used for boys. It means “From the great river.” The little girl is adorable, though. I think her name fits her. I’m now wondering if she’s got Irish heritage…

I would assume it’s a family name since it’s super odd. Avonmore makes me think of the word evermore for some reason… or like someone wants more [name]Avon[/name] (a beauty product company)
