So [name_m]Axel[/name_m] has been on my mind so much lately that I thought that I’d ask everyone what they think of it. What kind of guy do you imagine would have this name? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think people may misspell it as [name_m]Axl[/name_m] because of the [name_f]Rose[/name_f] guy? [name_m]Will[/name_m] people think I am naming my kid [name_m]Axel[/name_m] because [name_u]Fergie[/name_u] just used the name (as [name_m]Axl[/name_m] though)?
Also I was wondering what you guys think of [name_m]Axel[/name_m] paired with [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] as a middle name…[name_m]Axel[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]? My husband suggested it and I’m really loving it! Only thing is if we did end up using it for a son then we would have to tag on a nature name at the end since we plan to have a little theme going with that (as well as having two middles).
And this may sound like a weird question but a friend told me that [name_m]Axel[/name_m] sounds like…um…a**ho*e. Does it?!? Or is she just crazy? O.o
I like [name_m]Axel[/name_m]. It’s very popular in Scandinavia, [name_m]Axel[/name_m] in [name_u]Sweden[/name_u] and [name_m]Aksel[/name_m] in Norway (not sure about Denmark).
[name_m]Axel[/name_m] is a great name. Your friend is just being weird. [name_m]Axel[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] is cool, though it sounds a bit like a video game character (or maybe I’m just combining Kingdom Hearts II and Final [name_f]Fantasy[/name_f] VII in my head).
I love [name_m]Axel[/name_m], I think paired with [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] is nice cause the harshness of [name_m]Axel[/name_m] is mellowed by the softer feel of [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_m]Axel[/name_m] in the U.S. may get some comments, but they all do don’t they? I think the name paired with [name_m]Axel[/name_m] is just as important as the name paired with [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] and you two may have hit the jackpot. You don’t want the guns n roses hair metal association or the, excuse me, but porn association [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] can tend to bring to mind. I AM NOT a porn person, but I have heard enough to know this. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this doesnt sway you because truly if I could ever imagine condoning these names it would be the two together. I love it. I kinda hate that it has gotten this rough, hard feel to it, because to me it’s just so soft and majestic. We had a very popular member of our [name_m]Royal[/name_m] Family who was named [name_m]Axel[/name_m] and the founder of our labour party was called [name_m]Aksel[/name_m] - both great and almost legendary people here in Denmark. [name_m]Axel[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] sounds so great!
As for [name_m]Axel[/name_m] sounding like asshole, are we pronouncing this name the same way? Because I don’t hear that at all.

I like the name [name_m]Axel[/name_m] but i think the name [name_m]Axel[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] sounds a bit like a mans name in a porno… just sounds like someones fake name. I think if you go really creative on the first or middle name the other should be a little more common. I also think (this is just my preference) that names that give you visuals like colors, locations, occupations etc go better if they have a just plain ol name with them. For example [name_m]Axel[/name_m] makes me think of a car axel and valentine makes me think of little red hearts and together that just feels a little strange to get those two visuals. I also wouldn’t do something like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] hazel for a girl name because it gives me to colors in my head… but one of them alone is good. But if you love it then go for it… its all about what you think works and what your style is
