I recently learned about this name, and I am intrigued. Azuk is a female name of Nivkh origin. I looked it up, and my preferred pronunciation is Az-ook. I live in the U.S., and I was wondering if this is a useable name there.
I mean, it could work with the nickname [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f], but only if you had the heritage to support it. It also sounds quite masculine to me. What about [name_f]Azura[/name_f]?
I agree that it sounds masculine but my first thought was it sounds like the noise the lady makes in the “is that real?” vine:
Probably not a big deal lol. It also reminds me of Bazooka bubble gum.
I like the nickname [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] but I’d prefer [name_f]Azure[/name_f], [name_f]Azura[/name_f], or Azula. Maybe [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]?
@emmievis Thanks so much! [name_f]Azura[/name_f] is actually a really pretty name.
Thanks so much! Those are great names!

I don’t think this name work well in the states, we know a family with a [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] though and there are other similar names. Unless this name comes from your culture and then it’s fine.
Not a fan, sorry. Sounds like an Azula-[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] smoosh to me, and I like neither Azula nor [name_f]Anouk[/name_f].
Thanks everyone!
