We are getting down to the final couple of weeks and still have not solidified names for our twins. I would love your help / advice.
We are pretty certain the boys name will be [name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u], but also toyed with the idea of [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
For girls names we are stuck between [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (both combinations of grandmothers names)
So our main options are:
[name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] (nn: Hank)
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] (I love the name [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] , but would consider calling her [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] occasionally)
[name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] (nn: Hank)
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (for this combo I love the nn [name_u]Cali[/name_u] , but my husband doesn’t love it as much)

I like [name_u]Henry[/name_u] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], I like how they have different endings and I think they’re the same level of familiar and debonair. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is more the vintage choice, and pulls [name_u]Henry[/name_u] further that way. I personally much prefer the name [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] to [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] but I do think [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is marginally stronger with [name_u]Henry[/name_u] as a pairing (taking away my own tastes). I would pick [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] if going on the names individually (and I would use [name_f]Dot[/name_f] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] as nn’s, [name_u]Henry[/name_u] & [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is adorable!). They are both good options. Good luck!

If you go for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] as a first name you may have to be ok with the nicknames [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] or Caz as your daughter grows up and takes ownership of her name. The Caroline’s I knew growing up in the 90’s were both shortened to these at school (not sure about at home)
Another vote for [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], with [name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]. [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] and [name_m]Hank[/name_m] are so cute together.
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is my favorite ahead of [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. It’s more unique & just so charming. Reminds me of [name_m]Wizard[/name_m] of [name_m]Oz[/name_m] & a flapper dancer. [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] is fun with [name_m]Hank[/name_m], but I’m also kind of obsessed with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. Kind of a stretch? I do think that [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is a nice name, but just not as special as [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] in my opinion.
Both are super cute options!! I don’t think you can go wrong with either I think I prefer [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] with [name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u], but both are great!
i think either boy name is good, i personally prefer [name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] and it has more nickname potential.
I like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] more, but with the nickname [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] - I agree with your husband, I don’t like [name_u]Cali[/name_u]. [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] or [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] for [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is also cute !
I’m voting for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f], which I think is SO pretty!
[name_u]Henry[/name_u] & [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] sound beautifully classic together, and I prefer the non-matchy endings (as opposed to the double “y” on [name_u]Henry[/name_u] & Dorothy).
(As an aside, my personal fave nicknames for [name_u]Henry[/name_u] & [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] would be [name_m]Hal[/name_m] & Caro…)
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] is fabulous too! [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is one of my favourites, so I’d probably vote for it over [name_u]Henry[/name_u], but both are great choices.
I love [name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]! And I truly do like both [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. I most love that you are going to use some combo of grandmother names, I’m a sucker for an honor name. And I must say you have some excellent options from the grandmothers (mine aren’t that good lol).
I don’t think you can wrong with either [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]! I love both [name_m]Hank[/name_m] and [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] and [name_m]Hank[/name_m] and [name_u]Cali[/name_u], but if dad isn’t sold on [name_u]Cali[/name_u], I’ll vote for [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]!
