We have finally decided on [name_f]Talullah[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] for a girl (the name is still in the air a bit, but it’s the biggest compromise so far)

Now, we get to think about boy names! Yay! :slight_smile:

He doesn’t like ANY boy names… At all, so his list is more of a “sure, okay” list. [name_f]My[/name_f] list are names that I love and he either isn’t budging on… Or has no comment! Suggestions are appreciated! Really just trying to find some he loves right now…

[name_f]Talullah[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] was our compromise because I love [name_f]Talullah[/name_f], and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] honors his late grandmother. As of now, we have noone we’d like to honor for the middle name. I am also not a fan of naming after family anyways :slight_smile:

It seems he likes shorter, more common names. What if you compromised by having a long name with a short nickname that he can use day-to-day?

If he likes [name_m]Leo[/name_m] but you want something “more”, how about [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] or [name_m]Leopold[/name_m]?
I second [name_m]Silas[/name_m] - but then I would :slight_smile:
Or if you lilke Heathcliffe but he finds it “too much” - how about just [name_m]Heath[/name_m]?

I don’t like any long form of [name_m]Leo[/name_m] that I have ever come across. I do like [name_m]Leo[/name_m], but never enough for it to stand on his own.
He likes [name_m]Silas[/name_m], I don’t. And He doesn’t like [name_m]Heathcliff[/name_m], but is considering the idea of a longer name with a “cool” nickname. Lol

So I know you said you weren’t considering honoring anyone with a boys middle name but, since his grandmother [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] did just die, and using her name as a mn helped you get him to soften up on names he might consider -> have you suggested or considered using a masculine form of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] for a boys mn? You could still honor his grandmother with this baby regardless of gender… Everything from the traditional [name_m]Charles[/name_m] to the Danish [name_m]Kalle[/name_m] and Spanish [name_m]Carlos[/name_m] could work. [name_m]Even[/name_m] maybe something more fanciful like Charlemagne if you found that interesting. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a suggestion.

Instead of [name_m]Leo[/name_m] how about [name_m]Leon[/name_m]? It’s a little less popular than [name_m]Leo[/name_m] but still has that pop culture/hip feel due to the band Kings of [name_m]Leon[/name_m]. (I personally love [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] nn [name_m]Leon[/name_m] and hate the whole thing with nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m] - but I’m weird like that).

Otherwise, what is your hubby into? It might help with coming up with suggestions. Big sports fan? Nonfiction reader? Sci-Fi nerd? [name_m]How[/name_m] about you? Maybe there is the perfect name out there that can be nostalgic for both or either of you that the other really likes as well.

As far as honoring the grandmother… I really do NOT like “honoring people” with my child’s name… I am not fond of doing it for the girl, but I am not wanting to be insensitive even more. Also, if it were the case of having to do it. We would use a different grandparent :slight_smile:

Currently he likes “[name_u]Billy[/name_u]” lol I have noooo idea why… All I can think of is [name_u]Billy[/name_u] [name_m]Zane[/name_m] and the [name_u]Billy[/name_u]&[name_f]Mandy[/name_f] show. Haha
