Good to know you, ladies:). @Carlasworld There’s a time zone difference, but I’m always here if you want to chat with a fellow april mom @Taliface - I love the name [name_m]Aloysius[/name_m], but my DH is not a fan. I envy you, that you can use it:)!
Greetings :). FTM here with [name_m]EDD[/name_m] of [name_f]April[/name_f] 26th. Gender still a mystery, but my gut feeling is that it’s a boy. Pleasure to meet all of you and I wish you happy, healthy pregnancies.
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you do?
I have a sleepless night, because man of my dreams thinks that United Kingdom is not enough, he wants to conquer the [name_m]New[/name_m] World! The brave [name_u]Dane[/name_u] is flying to the USA to meet fellow professors and talk about english interwar literature again and again and again :). Not with me, lucky me! But I’m the one to drive him to Heathrow for his scientific voyages, with our two kids of course. We have a great nanny, but I think when dad’s leaving, even for a while, it’s good too know that mommy’s always here. The flight is on about 8, so we have to move by four, what makes our house complete disaster.
Congrats everyone! [name_u]Tali[/name_u], is your due date [name_f]May[/name_f] 6 or [name_u]June[/name_u] 5? I’m not sure because Americans write month/day, but everyone else writes day/month.
[name_u]June[/name_u] 5. It’s still tentative, though–I see the nurse this week for my first appt, and will see what they say then. So excited!
Also, I have had morning sickness of doom over the past 12 days. Nausea something awful–it’s sometimes a fight to eat more than three bites at a time, and two separate 24 hour periods where I couldn’t keep anything down. I got on a scale today, and I’m down 10 lbs. Gah!
I tried EVERYTHING–ginger, sucking hard candies and lollipops, ginger ale, sprite, cola syrup, crackers, toast, applesauce, bands on my wrists…I got a little bit of relief from the Preggie Pops, but what finally worked is I called the nurse line at my OB and she told me 25mg b6 3x daily, plus 1/2 a Unisom at bedtime. Alleluia! Suddenly the world is not full of suck anymore
Oh, the morning sickness from hell? I know it:). With [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and [name_u]Dash[/name_u] I had almost no nausea (no, I wasn’t that lucky, I had other complaints instead) - it was booked solid for the cases like smell of kebab early in the morning after too little sleep or so. So when I got pregnant for the third time I was sure I will have no morning sickness at all and we booked a small trip to Germany and Poland, where the part of my family comes from. We wanted to come back about Sept 15 - so I was generally at the same stage of the pregnancy as you, Taliface, but then we got there nausea of doom started and we had to rebook our flight. It was like yours - with all the ginger, applesauce and mint chewing gum. After four days I visited wondewrful local doctor, who contacted my regular one and prescribed me some medicine called Torecan. It’s something prescribed for ex for motion sickness and it worked!
You mentioned your weight loss - for me it’s the same, I’ve just regained my normal weight after losing it - how does it look like in your case?
