Since our support thread got closed I thought we’d start a new one. I decided to condense the babies due period so mothers/mothers to be who are at similar stages in pregnancy can support each other. I probably left out some really awesome ladies by doing so but of course everyone is welcome!
So my update… my belly is huge already haha I’m 17w4days. I feel my sweet baby kick and especially wiggle all the time. The day we turned 17w I felt the first kick from the outside! I’ve been feeling movement since 13w ish but it’s only become very distinguishable lately. My next appt with the midwife is [name]Monday[/name] and we can finally get the referral to the u/s tech for the anatomy scan and find out the sex! I’m almost positive it’s a boy so I’ll be shocked but equally happy with a girl
@crunchy, I just wanted to comment about your scan. I know you thought it would be girls anyways but I think gender disappointment is still normal. I know you’ll love the twins the same regardless and on the bright side you can start your own cheerleading squad!!! xox
If you do want any girl baby dust… I can probably help there!
[name]Glad[/name] you have an appointment with your midwife soon. It will be fun to hear the heartbeats again! It’s one of my favorite parts of doctor’s visits.
It’s just so odd because a few months ago, DH and I were talking and we said if we somehow got to pick the genders we would probably choose a girl. So why was I disappointed with girls? I don’t know! I think it relates to some other things this pregnancy and our lives in general this year. It’s been a pretty intense year with lots of twists that I didn’t see coming!
[name]One[/name] thing I didn’t mention yesterday was that my blood pressure was a little elevated. I’m not happy about that. It’s an ongoing problem in pregnancy for me. It’s not in a danger zone or anything yet, but from experience, this is how it starts. So I’m trying to rest and stay off my feet a little more.
I turned 15 weeks Friday. Still feeling sick (normal for me) and my belly is out enough now that depending on what I wear you can tell I am pregnant. I can still hide it though wearing something baggy if I want but can only wear drawstring/maternity pants for sure.
My last MW appointment went well. I had a UTI a few weeks ago and am supposed to do a pee retest to make sure that its gone etc to be sure.
We are not going to find out the gender, I am getting nervous as time goes on since I did have a son born at 21 weeks so I do not think I am going to really be of the mindset that all is well until there is a screaming baby in my arms. But I do think that after 21 weeks or once I am feeling regular movement I will relax just a wee bit…
The kids are of course excited, my older two keep talking about babies etc its cute. None of us are leaning one way or the other with gender, we are all just hoping for a sweet baby in [name]March[/name] although my oldest daughter wants boy/girl twins. The US we had done a few weeks ago says there is only one in there, sorry.
crunchy, my husbands wants a boy (5 in fact lol not happening) so no worries on the dust! Whatever will be, will be :). We always get an audio recording when we go for our appts.
jemama, today I realized I can’t event wear my comfy yoga pants! I had worn one pair of maternity capris for a few weeks out of comfort but otherwise it’s been dresses and jean shrts unbuttoned with a belly band. The tummy is hard too! You can clearly tell I’m preggo now but it’s surprising I’ve only gained 4lbs. It’s all belly, thank god haha. I gain weight really easy so I make sure I eat the right things and the right sizes. Keeping my fingers crossed for your little one I’m sure it’ll feel great once you pass that milestone!
I can still wear my yoga pants, for now. The butt is getting tight in them and I dont like them quit as, um, expressive but they work, lol. My lululemon ones with a drawstring waist are not going to fit another week, but my “regular” (from Target, their yoga pants are awesome) ones should be good to go for a wee bit longer. Never had a belly band if you can believe it. are they comfortable? Thanks for the crossed fingers, I know statistically baby should be fine, but it is of course in the back of my mind as you can imagine.
My yoga pants are Lululemon haha. The standard ones though. They fit everywhere but the waist. It hurts my abdomen and creates a muffin top at the back haha. I love having a belly band because it lets your regular pants last longer. All my jeans were too tight to start with cause I gained weight last year but one pair and most of my shorts were still good. I just looped a hair elastic around the button to make it more comfortable. My pants started fitting funny around 9w. My cheap yoga pants (well not that cheap they are from Roots) didn’t make it past 12w because the waist is diff than Lulus. If i wore them it was uncomfy or they roll down below my belly lol. Oh and some of my shirts that aren’t very long are starting to come up lol.
[name]Do[/name] you ladies do yoga or just wear the pants? lol I’m a yoga fanatic!
I haven’t been able to find a pair of yoga pants that I can wear the entire pregnancy. The two pairs that I did have from my singleton pregnancies didn’t take me much past 28 weeks with the twins last time. They still fit ok now, but they aren’t perfect.
I’m 19w2d today and it’s safe to say that anyone could point me out as a pregnant lady! We saw some friends the other day for the first time in a while and their son said “wow” when looking at my belly. Anyway- pants or not (I mean I wear pants…but they aren’t specifically yoga ones at the end- just comfy ones), I do yoga throughout pregnancy.
I’m 11 weeks and while I have gained some weight, I can’t see it or feel it, apart for my breasts (which makes my boyfriend happy, but not me). I’m quite tiny, so I was expecting to show really early. I’m actually a yoga instructor, so I wear yoga pants a lot as well, and do yoga everyday. I am going to switch to maternity yoga classes pretty soon, which will be good.
Does anyone else have crazy husbands/boyfriends who wants to wait until the baby is born to buy baby stuff? My boyfriend says we’ll jinx it if we get anything before the baby is here.
Anyway, I’m really excited! Looking forward to finding out the sex, I’ve had dreams about it being a boy, but I secretly wish it’s a girl…
Yes I do yoga haha but lately just at home so I wear my super loose jogging pants. [name]Ottilie[/name], can’t say my husband is like that. We bought a vintage crib we found at 7 weeks and a onesie that was on sale (it was star wars related) and two pairs of shoes. We needed a pair for our announcement photo anyways and both were cute, cheap and we couldn’t agree haha. All items have been neutral and we’re waiting until we know the sex to buy more.
I do yoga (well, havent the past few months with being pukey etc) so I thankfully have a lot of pants. I meant Costco earlier, not Target as where I got my favorite ones. My ones from athleta are good too. My “uniform” lately has been tank tops with either yoga pants or my elastic waist hippie skirts, he he.
We gave away all our baby stuff after we lost [name]Felix[/name], figured we would wait a few years before trying again and when my husband decided to go back to school yet again we were going to postpone ttc until 2015. So…all this to say, no baby stuff even after 4 kids! (Which, lots of it has worn out etc anyways) We tend to not get much though anyways, I am going to have to buy all new diapers (we use cloth) since I gave all mine to a friend and told her to keep them and eventually we will need clothes and a new carseat (we got a new one when I was pregnant with Vio, and it expires in the fall of 2013). I want another Keyfit 30 since I loved it so much, the best carseat out there imho.
All this to say, [name]Andy[/name] is very hesitant to buy anything for a while, as am I, for no other reason then mentally we need to get over the hurdle of 21 weeks (when our [name]Felix[/name] died) which, yes it is mental (no reason to think this baby is not doing just fine) but what we need to do. Plus I think as women, in general we start nesting the second we pee on that stick and get a positive test where as guys are more chilled with buying stuff at all, let alone baby stuff, lol. He was like this with our first too, so I think its normal.
Another nice appt with the midwife! [name]Baby[/name] ran away from the Doppler like usual but we found the HB way deep behind the pelvic bone! You can run kiddo, but you can’t hide. Our anatomy scan is now booked for Friday afternoon
[name]Hi[/name] girls, have been meaning to post for a few days but been super busy finishing an assignment. [name]Glad[/name] you made a new thread tina, it’s nice to hear how things are going with all of you.
I’ve been feeling terrible the last few days, nausea has returned & just so tired! Not sure if I’m coming down with something or it’s just the stress of the last few weeks catching up on me. I have 2 weeks off now so can get myself back to normal I hope. Wondering when I’m gonna get my energy & ‘glow’ - though few people told me
I was glowing yesterday (wish I felt it)
We’ve told all our friends & family now, it’s strange that everyone knows after it was a secret for so long. Had some lovely reactions (no one knew we were ttc) the best was my FiL who jumped up, punched the air & shouted YES!! He scared their dog who started jumping round the room & then he gave me a hug that nearly crushed me. Makes me smile just thinking about it.
We have my official dating scan on Friday, at 15 weeks! As I mentioned before they didn’t want to give a date from my 1st scan at 9 + 5 so they arranged a 2nd one at 12 weeks which I changed because we didn’t know when we would get the cvs results & I could cope with seeing baby again before I knew the score. Friday was the only day they could fit us in, so very excited & should get a great view of baby. [name]Will[/name] have an anatomy scan around 20 weeks too.
I have an apointment with my midwife next [name]Tuesday[/name] & DH is off work so he can come, hope we get to hear the heartbeat : )
[name]How[/name]'s everyone’s bumps coming along? Mine is definitely starting to grow!
All this talk of yoga has made me think about going to some pregnancy yoga classes…
vintage your FIL’s reaction sounds so cute haha. I would have loved to SEE my family’s reactions. It does feel so weird at first when everyone knows but within a few weeks it’ll start to feel normal and people are just always so supportive and loving. It’s funny, on FB people I haven’t talk to in years are now suddenly following my every move haha.
I am so excited for my u/s! Can’t wait to see baby now that baby will actually look like a baby! I’ll be 18 weeks tomorrow. My midwife was still asking me not to go too soon and I told her I can only promise it’ll be once I am 18 weeks lol. I called the place and said “I turn 18 weeks on [name]Wednesday[/name] and need to be seen by my 20th week and can only go during the afternoons… when can you see me?” It was Friday or [name]Saturday[/name] and since I am busy [name]Saturday[/name], Friday it is! I’m so excited/anxious/nervous, you name it.
My bump is still a good sized bump! I am carrying low and all in front, all the 4lbs I have gained have gone to the bump. Unfort vintage, I am one of those girls who got lucky and has the glow haha. My skin and hair has never been better! I could even skip washing it and it stays nice and clean w/ volume… it’s weird. Have you felt any fetal movement yet?
I swear I felt flutters the other night, felt like little butterflies flapping & then bubbles popping.
[name]Lucky[/name] you tina! I think I’ll be a lot better in 2 weeks after some rest. All the stress of the genetic tests, the sickness & my assignment have taken their toll on me. Had an amazing lie in this morning & have been for lunch with my mum (we had a sneaky look at baby things too).
Had anyone started on their nurseries yet? We are decorating the upstairs of our house next week & laying wooden floor so we are going to start the nursery at the same time. Began to clear out that room this week.
Not really. We got the crib but still need to refinish it. I think we are mainly waiting to know the sex… I am mainly waiting for my husband to sort his money issues thanks to a stupid crap sports car he bought in spring.
That is adorable about your FIL! My FIL was excited too, my [name]MIL[/name] thinks nobody should have more than 2 kids, especially not if they have a boy and a girl for the first two. (Eye roll)
My next appointment is end of the month, then we will talk about my ultrasound. I am guessing it will be in [name]October[/name] some time, we are not finding out the gender with this baby so I am lookiing forward to seeing a healthy baby and nothing more.
We cosleep with our baby until its old enough to have its own room…we are actually moving to a new place in [name]November[/name] (thankfully because the home is being painted on the outside, we can begin the move this week when we sign the lease and get the keys…very helpful with 4 kids and me being pregnant!) and do plan on actually having a room designated as a playroom and make it very baby friendly. Our youngest is almost 4, so, I am going to gear it more towards the baby baking since this house is huge (big change from our current abode!) so we can do it. But anyways, not doing a nursery but will do a playroom for this babe.
I think I feel stuff every now and then, but not entirely sure…you would think I would know by now what it feels like! I got a belly shot taken this weekend (just on DH’s cell phone, nothing fancy) of the kids with their hands on my belly and put it on FB…everyone said cute things about it and how big my belly is getting, it was nice.
Oh gosh [name]Tina[/name]! You definitely got a suprise from your boy vibes huh? That’s wonderful! Have you told family/friends? Is everyone excited and buying you tons of pink stuff now?
I don’t have long to reply but we have a no pink rule haha we don’t like pink! Nursery will be wild flowers themed, think poppies and daisies. We encourage neutral colors, bright yellow and red etc haha. And yes, she tricked us I am still overcoming the shock!
