Baby #1! NEED input on these names please!

[name]Hi[/name]! So my husband and I are expecting our first child, and even though we don’t know the gender yet, we’re editing and revising our list of names. I have a feeling that the baby will be a girl :). But that’s just me. Hubby wants a boy first.
So I’ve made a thread before, and since then we’d tweaked names and added some new ones.
The baby will be mixed, since my husband is [name]Pacific[/name] Islander and I’m white. He wants to know whether you all could see these names on a mixed baby.
I’d love more opinions!

Here’s the list:

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Sloane[/name]
or
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Monet[/name]? (I’m in love with the name [name]Daphne[/name]. It’s my front-runner. However, I’m stumped on a middle name. I love [name]Sloane[/name] because it’s different and contrasts [name]Daphne[/name] well, but I also love [name]Monet[/name]. He’s my mom’s favorite painter, and as an artist herself, she would love this.)

[name]Baye[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name] (I love the name [name]Baye[/name]! Hubby and I agree on this one! And [name]Alexandra[/name] is my mom’s middle name.)
or
[name]Baye[/name] [name]Violeta[/name] ([name]Violeta[/name] is my grandmother’s name, and I love this.)

[name]Athena[/name] [name]Lily[/name] (For some reason, I am just loving Greek names. [name]Lily[/name] is my husband’s grandmother’s name, so it means a lot to him.)

[name]Eloise[/name] [name]India[/name] (I’m very hesitant about this one. [name]India[/name] is exotic, and I’m a total yoga freak, but I’m starting to think this one is a little too much? I do love [name]Eloise[/name], but isn’t it growing fast in popularity?)

Names we dropped from last time:
[name]Mollie[/name], [name]Darcy[/name], [name]Claudia[/name], and [name]Penelope[/name].
I sadly dropped [name]Luella[/name], because it just didn’t feel right for some reason.

I’d love some opinions on our new and improved list!

I love the name [name]Baye[/name]! I have not actually heard it before but I loved it instantly as soon as I read your post! My fave names from your list are definitely [name]Baye[/name] [name]Violeta[/name] and [name]Athena[/name] [name]Lily[/name]… I think all 4 of these names are very pretty and [name]Lily[/name] & [name]Violeta[/name] have personal meaning to your and your husband. Perhaps you could use [name]Baye[/name], [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Violeta[/name] together in one name? Depending on the flow of your surname I think [name]Baye[/name] [name]Violeta[/name] [name]Lily[/name], [name]Baye[/name] [name]Lily[/name] [name]Violeta[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] [name]Baye[/name] [name]Violeta[/name] sounds gorgeous!

Congratulations and good luck!!

I love [name]Eloise[/name] [name]India[/name].

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Sloane[/name]- I love this name. [name]Daphne[/name] has really been growing on me lately, and [name]Sloane[/name] complements it perfectly. [name]Daphne[/name] is really feminine and quirky, and [name]Sloane[/name] is unisex and has a really cool vibe to it, so they balance each other nicely.

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Monet[/name]- I love [name]Daphne[/name], but not with [name]Monet[/name]. I don’t know why. Seperately they’re fine, but together they just don’t flow right, [name]IMO[/name].

[name]Baye[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]- I absolutely adore this. [name]Baye[/name] is on my list as a nickname for Baylyn. I also love [name]Alexandra[/name], but I may be a bit biased because my name is “[name]Alexandria[/name].”

[name]Baye[/name] [name]Violeta[/name]- Another great name. I think its great you guys are considering family names; its a really nice gesture. If you want to use both, you could always try [name]Baye[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Violet[/name]. [name]Just[/name] a suggestion.

[name]Athena[/name] [name]Lily[/name]- I like this, but not as much as your other combos. And I think [name]Athena[/name] may be growing in popularity, like [name]Eloise[/name].

[name]Eloise[/name] [name]India[/name]- I [name]LOVE[/name] this. [name]Eloise[/name] is pretty and classy, and [name]India[/name] is lovely. I also love [name]India[/name] [name]Eloise[/name], and even [name]India[/name] [name]Lily[/name]. I adore the
nickname [name]Indy[/name]/[name]Indi[/name].

I keep seeing you post that you and your husband are worried about how these names would work on a mixed baby… I wouldn’t put too much thought into that. Any of the names on your list would work perfectly. There aren’t any naming guidelines when it comes to naming children, you should just do what feels right to you.

[name]Daphne[/name]-[name]Baye[/name] [name]Violeta[/name]/[name]Alexandra[/name] sounds nice.
But if you want, just leave out the hyphen.
I’m a bit of a weird one for names, but its just and idea.

I don’t know how many people on here have seen the show “Switched at birth” on ABC family… The two daughters who were switched were [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Bay[/name], so [name]Daphne[/name]-[name]Bay[/name] may get associated with that. Not a big deal at all, but you might get a few people ask you if that show was your name inspiration or something. [name]Daphne[/name] by itself would be fine, and [name]Bay[/name] by itself would be fine, but together they remind me of that show. But I love that show, so [name]Daphne[/name]-[name]Bay[/name] as a first name might not be that bad actually. I guess its personal opinion…

I’ve heard of that show on ABC Fam, but I’ve never watched it. It was never my intent to put Daphne and Baye in the same name, so no worries. I think we’ll be okay :).

I love all these opinions I’m getting

I’d love some more!

They’re pretty names. You have great taste in names. I would love to use [name]Daphne[/name], but I have a cousin named [name]Daphne[/name], so I can’t. :frowning:
Maybe I can squeeze it in as a middle name though! Lol.

Thank you so much :)! I love [name]Daphne[/name], and hubby isn’t completely convinced. I think I can win him over in the end. He loves [name]Baye[/name], though!
I think it’s actually really funny there’s a show with those exact names! I flipped to the ABC Family and it’s on right now! Maybe I’ll watch it

Any more opinions? I’m stuck on which middle name for [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Baye[/name]. I’d love more input please :)!

Are there other special family names we could work with?

Some other family names I like are:

Tani, after my godmother who is a beautiful Hawaiian woman. I would [name]LOVE[/name] to use this, because Tani is one of the most amazing people ever. But I’m not sure how it would fit in with any name choices.

[name]Stella[/name], my grandmother’s name and my husband’s mother’s name. Although both are very selfish women and I wouldn’t want to put that on my baby, regardless of how much I like the name.

[name]Daisy[/name], my husband’s other grandma’s name. He likes it, I think it’s kind of childish.

[name]Morris[/name], is my great grandmother’s name. I kind of like it!

Vinnia, my other great grandmother’s name. But I don’t know if I would be brave enough to use it!

Thank you for all the help, by the way

[name]Baye[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name] - This is beautiful and my first pick from your list. I know a woman named [name]Bay[/name] and she is wonderful. You can’t go wrong with this name.

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Monet[/name] - I like this one second best. My niece is called [name]Daphne[/name] and it suits her so well. I think this name will gain popularity much more rapidly than [name]Eloise[/name]. [name]Eloise[/name] is popular on the boards, but in real life it’s not the easiest name to say out loud. [name]Daphne[/name] rolls off the tongue and ends with the e sounds parents are craving, as in the popular [name]Zoe[/name] and increasingly popular [name]Penelope[/name].

Here are some ideas, using two middle names and some variations on the family names:

[name]Baye[/name] [name]Alexa[/name] Tani

[name]Baye[/name] Vinnia Tani

[name]Baye[/name] [name]Xandra[/name] Tani

[name]Baye[/name] [name]Lily[/name] [name]Monet[/name]

[name]Baye[/name] [name]Lillia[/name] (combines [name]Lily[/name] and Vinnia)

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Alexa[/name]

[name]Daphne[/name] Tani

[name]Daphne[/name] Tani [name]Monet[/name]

[name]Daphne[/name] Vinnia [name]Xandra[/name]

[name]Daphne[/name] Vinnia [name]Lily[/name]

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Alexa[/name]

My husband and I are both loving [name]Baye[/name] [name]Lillia[/name]! That’s such a great combo of the names that both mean a lot to us. I also remembered my grandpa’s mother is named [name]Lydia[/name], and [name]Lillia[/name] kind of incorporates that too!

When I saw [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Sloane[/name], I was immediately jealous that it wasn’t my name! [name]Love[/name] love love it.

Close second choice is [name]Baye[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name].

[name]BOTH[/name] are great names. You have great taste in my opinion

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Violeta[/name] [name]Baye[/name]?

[name]Just[/name] a thought:
[name]Alexis[/name]
[name]Alicia[/name]
[name]Bonita[/name]/[name]Bonnie[/name]
[name]Viola[/name]

What about [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Lillia[/name] / [name]Lillian[/name] (for [name]Lily[/name]?)

[name]Baye[/name] is interesting, I might catch on to that one.

Exciting! Be sure to post in the “Birth Announcements” section when your baby comes (even if you end up deciding to go with a different combo).

I love [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Monet[/name], and [name]Athena[/name] [name]Lily[/name]. [name]Baye[/name] [name]Violetta[/name] is lovely too.
