We just found it baby #2 is a boy. A long awaited baby boy on my side of the family. I have had the name [name_m]Declan[/name_m] picked out for years (probably close to 8-10 years ago). With the combo being [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m].
But, we like to be 100% sure before we commit.
My husband is making the suggestion of [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]/[name_u]Theo[/name_u] (his name starts with a ‘T’).
Big sister is [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]. Our last name rhymes with ‘hickory.’
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] flows very well. I love it. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]/ [name_u]Theo[/name_u] is also very handsome. You can’t go wrong. Good luck and congratulations!
I’m not a fan of [name_m]Declan[/name_m], but it’s a good name! The combo flows well. Honestly I prefer [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] with your daughter’s name. I don’t care for [name_u]Owen[/name_u].
I would stick with [name_m]Declan[/name_m] in the first name spot! If you’ve loved it for so many years you will regret not using it. I do think your husband’s suggestion of [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] would be nice in the middle. It’s important that both parents have input on the child’s name, and I think [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] works a touch better than [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m].
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] goes better with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] but I’m more excited by [name_m]Declan[/name_m]. [name_f]Every[/name_f] third boy seems to be a [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]/[name_u]Theo[/name_u]/Ted! I like [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Declan[/name_m], and I totally agree with PP that it’s way more exciting than [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. And I agree with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] as a middle. Partly because I feel like with a daughter with a middle of [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], if baby #2 has an [name_f]El[/name_f]- middle name, then you’ll feel locked into an [name_f]El[/name_f]- middle for a hypothetical baby #3.
I slightly prefer [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] over [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Declan[/name_m]. I’d probably use [name_u]Owen[/name_u] more as a mn. Some other possibilities for you: [name_m]Desmond[/name_m], [name_u]Douglas[/name_u], [name_m]Duncan[/name_m], [name_m]Edmond[/name_m], [name_m]Simon[/name_m], or [name_m]Graham[/name_m].
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] & [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] are both wonderful names! Why not do [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], and drop [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]? [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] is a very sweet combo, but [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] you each get a name you love.
