Baby #2

I am expecting baby number 2 (Due [name_u]July[/name_u] 2016), gender unknown. When pregnant with our first we had a boy’s and girls’ name ready to go. We were IN [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] with our girl’s name and feeling so-so on the boy’s. [name_u]August[/name_u] 2013, [name_f]Elliana[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] was born.
Now we are getting no where with a name for baby number two. We do not love any girl’s names as much as we love [name_f]Elliana[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] ("[name_f]Elli[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]" 99% of the time), and are still so-so on the same boy’s name we originally picked out. Looking for your thoughts on potential our boy’s names:

[name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] (This is our original boys name from our first pregnancy. Both kids would share the same initials: EGL)

[name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] (This recently made the cut. This would give baby the same initials as me. Worthwhile noting, my husband’s first name is [name_u]Evan[/name_u], so this would give us 2-M’s and 2-E’s in the family. Also, [name_m]Allen[/name_m] is somewhat a family name- My father’s middle name, and an Uncle on Husband’s side).

I don’t [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] that both are very popular, but feel like [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] is a popular but strong name. [name_u]Mason[/name_u] feels “trendy” to me, but I do like it still (We both like [name_m]Mace[/name_m] as a NN).

Thoughts!?! [name_f]TIA[/name_f]!!

I feel that if you were to pick [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] (which I think is a powerful and awesome name) you would have to stick to the EGL initials if you ever had other kids.
I also like [name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] not as much as [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m], tho. However, if I had to pick one of the two, I would go with [name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] as it has more going for it.

If you want a more unusual name to replace the very popular [name_u]Mason[/name_u], I would suggest [name_m]Maceo[/name_m]. You can still use [name_m]Mace[/name_m] as a nickname.

I think [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is very handsome  [name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] is nice too, but I feel there’s something a little more special about [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m].
I kind of agree with pp. If you do plan on having more kids in the future you may feel like you need to repeat the same initials again which would make you extremely limited, although that may not be an issue for you.

I like [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] better than [name_u]Mason[/name_u]. I agree that [name_u]Mason[/name_u] feels trendy, and [name_f]Elliana[/name_f] doesn’t really.

What about
[name_m]Marcus[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m]
[name_u]Micah[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m]
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m]
