Baby #3, a sibling for Rupert & Eleanor... NEED HELP!

Hello! My husband and I are new to Nameberry. This site was recommended by a friend from my yoga class for baby naming help, which is exactly what we need!

The Darling family is expanding yet again (yes, our last name is Darling)! We’re expecting Darling baby #3 in [name]August[/name].
We’ve decided to keep the gender a surprise, for ourselves and for everyone! So we’re attempting to make a solid boy’s list and girl’s list, which has proven to be very difficult.

We have two beautiful children, [name]Rupert[/name] [name]Grey[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Lilac[/name]. My husband and I both have a love for classic names, and would love to keep that trend going with #3.
We also would like a word/color name in the middle, to give it a little oomph!

The boy names we’ve jotted down so far:
[name]Samuel[/name] (My absolute favorite!)
[name]Philip[/name] (My second favorite… [name]Love[/name] the nickname “[name]Pip[/name]”)
[name]Theodore[/name] (My husband’s favorite)

Some middle name options:

What do you think of this list so far?

What are some good combos for Darling baby #3?

I love your list and the names of your first two children. [name]Both[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] and [name]Philip[/name] would work but I prefer [name]Samuel[/name].

[name]Samuel[/name] [name]West[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] — nick name [name]Theo[/name]—my favorite
[name]Arthur[/name] [name]Blaise[/name] — my second favorite
[name]Philip[/name] [name]Indigo[/name]

I love [name]Philip[/name] [name]Cobalt[/name].

Thank you so much! The first two were easy to name, but #3 is giving us some trouble!

I love the suggestion of [name]Samuel[/name] [name]West[/name]!

Also love:
[name]Philip[/name] [name]Cobalt[/name]
[name]Arthur[/name] [name]Blaise[/name]

[name]Vincent[/name] [name]Forest[/name], [name]Vincent[/name] [name]River[/name], [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Jasper[/name]

W/[name]Rupert[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name], I really like these:

[name]Philip[/name] (My second favorite… [name]Love[/name] the nickname “[name]Pip[/name]”)
[name]Theodore[/name] (My husband’s favorite)

I’d stay away from [name]Honor[/name], even as a middle name, it is all girl to me. Sorry. Combo suggestions:

[name]Oscar[/name] [name]West[/name]
[name]Arthur[/name] [name]Blaise[/name]
[name]Philip[/name] [name]Cobalt[/name]
[name]George[/name] [name]Indigo[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name] [name]Jasper[/name]

My first choice was [name]Theodore[/name], until I said [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] together. So sadly, [name]Theodore[/name] is a no for me. :frowning:

My other three:
[name]Philip[/name] [name]Cobalt[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name] [name]Blaise[/name]
[name]Arthur[/name] [name]West[/name]

Good luck!

I love [name]Arthur[/name] (artie so cute)!
The name [name]Casper[/name] is also a cute name that goes with your style.

My favorites with your sibset are: [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Philip[/name], [name]Samuel[/name], and [name]Theodore[/name]. Some combinations with mns are:

[name]Arthur[/name] [name]Indigo[/name]
[name]Philip[/name] [name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]True[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name] [name]West[/name]

I love [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Forest[/name]. [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Blaise[/name], [name]Philip[/name] (love this name!) [name]Jasper[/name] or [name]West[/name]. I also really like [name]Vincent[/name] from your list… [name]Vincent[/name] [name]Blaise[/name] (great traditional name), [name]Vincent[/name] [name]West[/name].

You have some fine names on your list, however, I think in contrast to [name]Rupert[/name] that they are very mainstream. I would see [name]Rupert[/name] having a brother named

and [name]Hugo[/name]!

My favourite is [name]Tristan[/name] as it has a whimsical flavour like [name]Rupert[/name] Combo of [name]Tristan[/name] [name]Indigo[/name], but I like [name]Tristan[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] a lot too.

I like [name]Blaise[/name] too combo of [name]Blaise[/name] [name]Henry[/name], Sibset of [name]Blaise[/name], [name]Rupert[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name] nice! But [name]Henry[/name] Darling is better than [name]Blaise[/name] Darling wdyt?

Thank you for pointing out the similarity between [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name]! That one is definitely off the list!

I love the suggestions of [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Forest[/name] and [name]Vincent[/name] [name]Blaise[/name].

[name]Tristan[/name] is lovely, but DH has vetoed :(.
I love [name]Lionel[/name] (but worried the ‘el’ is too close to [name]Eleanor[/name]), [name]Laurence[/name], and [name]Edwin[/name].
[name]One[/name] I’m crushing on now is [name]Edmund[/name]!

Well I have a [name]Rupert[/name] too, and I love your list so thought I would share my list with you…
[name]Archie[/name] (ds1)

Good luck picking…

Aindreas gaelic form of [name]Andrew[/name]

I love the suggestions of [name]Walter[/name], [name]Byron[/name], [name]Louis[/name], and [name]Felix[/name]!

I love you children’s names. More suggestions…

Again, I don’t find [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] too close at all

DH is especially worried about the rhyming between [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name]. It’s just a little too close for comfort, which is sad, because we both really loved [name]Theodore[/name] and the potential nickname of [name]Teddy[/name] :(.

With the names of your other children, I really like:
[name]William[/name] [name]Jasper[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]West[/name]
[name]Oscar[/name] [name]Blaise[/name]
[name]Arthur[/name] [name]West[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name] [name]West[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]Forest[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]Blaise[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]West[/name]
[name]Philip[/name] [name]West[/name]
[name]George[/name] [name]West[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name] [name]Blaise[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name] [name]West[/name]

I really hope you stick with the colour middle names, as I think it’s a nice connection for your childern to have, and wouldn’t want #3 to feel left out  If you need more colour names ideas, a few are:

For your first names, of the ones you are leaning towards, I like:
