So I’m trying to pull together a long list if new baby is a girl. We have a boy FN ([name_m]Bruce[/name_m] after my husband’s late father).
So my style is sweet and vintage not unisex but not overly feminine, I like long vowel sounds, would prefer 3 syllables. Easy to pronounce/spell if you read/hear it is important to DH. Probably not in top 300. I have an extremely common FN and I’m kind of obsessed with my kids avoiding that.
Current ideas that are probably not The
One:
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucinda[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
I love [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] but they’re too common for me.
Would love any ideas! Thanks for your help Berries!!!
I love [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]! I also really like [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] with your other daughters’ names, though I strongly associate the name [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] with the [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_m]Quimby[/name_m] books, and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]'s sister is [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], nn. Beezus. But that may not be a connection most people make, in which case, [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] gets my second vote. [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is also lovely.
Some other ideas, though not all are three syllables…
[name_f]Bryony[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] (you could even call her [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]!)
[name_f]Dinah[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f]/[name_f]Edie[/name_f]
[name_f]Francine[/name_f]/[name_f]Francie[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]
[name_f]Jemima[/name_f]
[name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Pauline[/name_f]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] with [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], though the spelling isnt that easy to guess, since there is always [name_f]Clio[/name_f] too.
Easy to pronounce/spell if you read/hear is for me [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. I love them both with [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], and you could always have [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] if you want.
I like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] best from your list. I also made the [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] connection, but not probably not a deal breaker.
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] are my favourites from your list. They are most distinctive from your older girls’ names, but still fit your (awesome) style perfectly.
Suggestions (and sorry for any repeats)…
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f]
[name_f]Elora[/name_f]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
Yes [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is a beauty and a love the idea of nn [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] with her sisters. But while we love the [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_m]Quimby[/name_m] books I think the connection is just too strong which is why it’s probably not a frontrunner.
Thanks for suggestions. I love:
[name_f]Elora[/name_f]
[name_f]Luciana[/name_f] (is this pron. Loo-chi-ah-nuh or Loo-see-ah-nuh?)
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] (was a frontrunner when we were choosing [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]'s name)
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] (little [name_f]Dottie[/name_f]! so sweet!)
[name_f]Luella[/name_f]- this is one of my favorite suggestions but I feel like every other kid I meet is named/nicknamed [name_f]Ella[/name_f] I wonder if there would be a way to avoid her being called [name_f]Ella[/name_f].
