Baby #4 and so far none of our top names feel right - Help!

[name_u]Baby[/name_u] #4 will be here soon and so far we haven’t found a name we love. We didn’t find out the sex this time but we have some boys names picked out already and I really think it’s a girl anyway. I tend to like less common names and my husband tends towards more traditional.

Our other children are [name_f]Carys[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Mark[/name_m], and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u].

Here are a few we are considering (and my reservations/thoughts on each):

[name_f]Marin[/name_f] (my husband and I both really like this name and I don’t really know what’s holding me back)
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] (this was one of the two names we went to the hospital with for my 2nd daughter, but we didn’t end up using it and that makes me feel like maybe I didn’t love it??? We didn’t use the other name for her either and it’s since been nixed for this baby)
[name_f]Arwen[/name_f] (we both like this but I’m not sure with the LotR connection…)
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] (a name we have considered multiple times but never made it to the end)
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] (my husband loves this one but I’m not sure)
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] (I really like this one but my husband doesn’t)
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f] (I also like this one, my husband’s not sure, and I’m not sure how I feel about the connection to the Hunger Games)
[name_m]Rhyan[/name_m] (I really like this name for a girl, but no one else seems to like it…)

Any on our list you love or hate? Any other names we might not have considered?

Any thoughts or new ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!

I like [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Marin[/name_f] the best with the sibset. I think both work equally well in different ways. Maybe you’ll know when you see her?

With [name_f]Carys[/name_f], [name_m]Adrian[/name_m], and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], I like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] best from your list. Some other ideas:

[name_f]Briony[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]

Arial[/name_u] Narrow]We are due in [name_u]December[/name_u] with bub #2 and want to use [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] if it’s a girl. I was hesitant at first due to the LotR connection, but we both love LotR and learnt after our son [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] was born, that we don’t really care if people think it’s nerdy

I absolutely adore [name_f]Willow[/name_f] with your other children’s names. [name_f]Carys[/name_f], [name_m]Adrian[/name_m], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] just seem to suit each other perfectly! That said, I’m also a huge fan of [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], and would love to hear it more often. I personally would be hesitant to use both [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] because of their pretty clear associations to their respective books, but if you simply adore one of them then by all means don’t let that stop you.
Congratulations of baby #4, and I hope you find the perfect name for her!

[name_f]Carys[/name_f], [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] are gorgeous together! From your list I love [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] is also beautiful :). Not a fan of [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] - it feels dated to me. I actually do like [name_m]Rhyan[/name_m] however I’m not sure that it works well with her siblings names. What about [name_u]Rylan[/name_u] instead?
[name_f]Carys[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Mark[/name_m], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] and…

I love several names on your list. Unfortunately I just can’t warm to [name_f]Marin[/name_f] though. It just doesn’t seem to sing like the others do! I like [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] but not so much with your sibset. [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] doesn’t appeal and doesn’t go with sibs I think.

All of [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] are gorgeous and would be a great fit I think! For me [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] are not so linked to books - I only know of that through this site.

With your kids, I like:

[name_f]Marin[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]

[name_f]Marin[/name_f] or [name_f]Willow[/name_f] sound like the best bet for you, and they both sound lovely and fit it in great with your other kids names!

I like [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] from your list the best…

[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Marin[/name_f] are both lovely names and go beautifully with your other children’s names.

Maybe [name_u]Malin[/name_u]? Or [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Bryony[/name_f], [name_f]Della[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f].

My thoughts:

[name_f]Marin[/name_f] – This is a nice name. No strong feelings either way.
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] – If this name fits your new child, you should use it!
[name_f]Arwen[/name_f] – The LOTR connection is VERY strong with this name. You will be asked frequently about it. People will definitely assume you’re a huge LOTR fan. This is something you should consider before using it, but if you’re a fan then you should totally use it.
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] – I love this! It’s my favorite of your options.
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] – I like it but it’s not my favorite on this list.
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] – I like this name but don’t love it. It works with the sibset though, and it’s really cute.
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f] – For me the Hunger Games association is pretty strong, but more than that it’s just not my style. I think it’s the word “prim” in there that makes me dislike it.
[name_m]Rhyan[/name_m] – I see why you’d like it but this spelling is not my style.

I love [name_f]Marin[/name_f]. I’ve gotten tired of [name_f]Willow[/name_f] for some reason, but it used to be a favorite of mine. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] would be my other two picks from your list.

I love [name_f]Marin[/name_f] (though I’d probably spell it [name_f]Maren[/name_f]), [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], and [name_f]Arwen[/name_f]. I don’t usually remember that [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] has a LOTR origin. It sounds Welsh to me. Other Welsh names that sound similar and you might like too: Aderyn, [name_f]Anwen[/name_f], [name_f]Branwen[/name_f] or [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f], [name_u]Seren[/name_u], Eirianwen, [name_f]Rhoswen[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] it [name_f]Willow[/name_f] would work really well with your sibset. I can’t go past [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] though… such a gorgeous name!

Personally, I find [name_f]Marin[/name_f] very harsh and unfeminine, especially in contrast to your girl’s names.

I love [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], but with your sibset, my favourite is [name_f]Willow[/name_f]!

Some suggestions:

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] / [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]

[name_f]Marin[/name_f] is the stand out for me. Absolutely darling name! Also partial to [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], but dislike the association to ‘prim and proper’. [name_f]Marin[/name_f]… gorgeous

Thanks for all the feedback! This was so helpful!

I think that [name_f]Marin[/name_f] comes across as not as feminine which may be why I am hesitant but it’s interesting that some of you still love it. I’m thinking of possibly pairing it with [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] as I think [name_f]Marin[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] sounds more feminine, but then few people will likely use her middle name…

Several of you also gave us a few more names we may add to the list, so thanks a bunch!!!

This has definitely helped me narrow things down some and figure out how I feel about each of the names, hopefully one of them just sticks out when I see her
