So we got our BFP last week and I’m already playing around with potentially 4th sister names.
Big sisters are [name_f]Lilla[/name_f], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] (They will be 8,6,2 when this baby is born) Ideally we’ll use another name with a double letter like our girls. We like vintage french and southern sounding names, think [name_m]New[/name_m] Orleans! Please help me shorten my list.
From your double letter combos I like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] best, and from non-double combos I like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
However, all three names from your non-double combos could be spelled slightly differently ([name_f]Rosalee[/name_f], [name_f]Corra[/name_f], Florra) to “fit” your double letter scheme, and somewhat fit with your spelling of [name_f]Lilla[/name_f] (unless this is differently pronounced than “Lie-lah”, which is how I read it, apologies if that’s not the case).
I really like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Colette[/name_f], and [name_f]Suzette[/name_f] with the sister names. I think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] sound really nice as well, even if they don’t quite match as closely.
From your double letter names I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Colette[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Colette[/name_f] would be the most distinctive out of these choices, as [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] are quite popular (although I don’t know if popularity is an issue for you).
I also like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], style-wise they fit very well in the sibset. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is beautiful but I feel like she is a bit “older” feeling than [name_f]Lilla[/name_f], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] & [name_f]Tess[/name_f]. [name_f]Josette[/name_f] and [name_f]Suzette[/name_f] are rather frumpy to me.
Also, if you were to go for [name_f]Etta[/name_f] or [name_f]Cora[/name_f] I worry that [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] would sort of stand out in the sibset because of the length of her name… a name like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] would bridge that difference.
Yes!!! We would like to use an Ette/[name_f]Etta[/name_f] name, possibly to get to the nn [name_f]Etta[/name_f], because [name_f]Lilla[/name_f], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], [name_f]Tess[/name_f], and [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is adorable but with [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] not so much, but so many of the longer ette names are soooo dated or uber popular. [name_f]Colette[/name_f] is the one ette name that isn’t super popular or super dated but DH doesn’t feel like it sounds vintage enough…
I also just saw I left the [name_u]Jo[/name_u] names on the list where I mean to have [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and [name_f]Julietta[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] those work any better?
@lilimorgana - Thanks! I love [name_f]Greer[/name_f] and [name_f]Noor[/name_f] but I don’t think they match well with our DDs. I also love [name_f]Della[/name_f] but it’s too close to [name_f]Lilla[/name_f].
@cgwaltney - Thank you, we are very excited! We would like to avoid repeating initials so [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] won’t work either.
@gummybear0724 - I love all the Hattie/Haddie/Hadley names, but they are in the same position as Etta in needing a full name. Harriet has always felt a bit heavier than our girls names.
Out of your choices I like [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] or [name_f]Julietta[/name_f] the best. Second favorite is [name_f]Colette[/name_f]. I personally like the idea of the fourth having double letters also.
Some more options:
[name_f]Lilla[/name_f], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_f]Tess[/name_f], & …
My favourites from your lists are [name_f]Colette[/name_f], [name_f]Suzette[/name_f], [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f].
My favorite is by far [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] but my second favorite would be [name_f]Colette[/name_f]. I do think the double letter pattern should continue and that a longer name would balance out the sibset best. All beautiful choices. I would also second/third/fourth (haha) suggestion of [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] with your girl names.
Best of luck
